Beta Leap Of Death 0.5.1

A car-wrecking, hole of doom!

  1. FunkyHunk
Hi everybody, here is Leap Of Death.
It is compatible with Version 0.27.1.

Smash things up, or try to drive your way down without getting crushed! Spawn on the bottom of the map for a very challenging drive to the top. Can you reach the top without respawning?

There are two spawnpoints, and you spawn either at the top or the bottom.

The road up is very challenging with any of the stock vehicles, difflocks and low range is recommended.

Roads: A very challenging dirt road from the bottom to the ramp on the top (16.5km/10.2miles from start to finish),
and a dirt road around the circumference of the quarry (10.5km/6.52miles) about halfway up.

    Size: 4k by 4k

Suitable for: Crawling, Off Road, Crashing, Trailing.

Features: Ramps, bridges, mountains, various lakes, hills, VERY narrow roads and passes.

WhyBeAre on youtube also made a review video some time ago, of the old version:

Jimmy broadbent made a few videos as well, oldest to newest:

(Original thread: http://www.beamng.com/threads/leap-of-death.3800/ ) FunkyHunk (changes made in 2014 and ongoing)
Most assets are from beamng's own stock, so thanks to the original authors of the game as well!

If you have any suggestions/questions regarding adding stuff or something else, shoot me a PM.
If something is not working, please let me know also!
And If you have experience in adding time trials in the map editor let me know, I'd love some help from someone more knowledgeable than me.

Thanks for your kind comment! I wish Whybeare still made videos, he was my goto guy for update videos when new BeamNG versions was released and stuff like that. Funny thing is, I made this map for my own sake, because I wanted a challenging road to crawl with the 4x4s, because back in '14 there wasn't many good 4x4 trail maps. Then others started to enjoy it, and I just kept on. Glad people still enjoy this, I still do, many times a week.
I'm working on adding time trials to the map also, as soon as I figure out how to do it properly.

Thanks for that, does the map behave like it should? If not, go to the discussion and let me know. Will be trying to create scenarios and stuff now, so it wont go 3 years till next update :)

lol made it all the way up with a stock Tograc, swapped the engine to the 2.5 petrol because the diesel didn't have close to enough power but the chassis and wheels were completely stock. Way too fun, and easier than with an offroad D-Series. :))
