I again just finished watching another video from BeamNB, and I was watching in the cockpit view, and I thought came to my mind, can they add a human inside the cockpit view? Like when you enter the truck/car you can physically see a human being in the drivers seat, responding the commands from the player, like when you turn, the human's arms will turn. I don't know if anyone has thought about this or made a thread, cause I searched it and found nothing. But I thought it might be a neat ideal to add.
It would be quite hard. First of all you need ragdoll/skeletal PERSON which is probably very unoptimized with Beams and Nodes. Secondly you need animations, otherwise the hands will keep spinning on the wheel. Last of all, in normal games the cars don't really damage apart from visuals, in BeamNG you can cut a car in half - it will look really messy if the driver's hands are clipping or something just to get him holding the wheel. It's not impossible but it won't look good without effort. I can't say anything for the devs, but what I can say is that it I'm not bothered greatly, and that the devs have a lot of other work to do - this isn't a high priority.
You could just use Euphoria to make the human? Also about the cutting the car in half, you could just make the human go with any type of movement that the truck goes.
I like the idea obviously and I'm sure its possible. It probably wouldn't be a top priority. But I'm sure it will be attempted later on.
That's what I'm thinking too, just maybe after they release the sim, maybe then they could think more about adding any human animations. But thanks.
Euphoria is more for NPCs in games like GTA, it works perfect there. It would be cool to have pedestrians running on (something similar to) Euphoria, but for the driver you only need a small part of that, then again - soft-body physics are a lot harder to work with, especially considering that most physics system software are rigid-body. You can get a wheel to an oval in a crash and the driver model wouldn't know if it's a circle or oval, without great knowledge, and the knowledge would require a lot of power so It seems quite unpractical. I'm sure there is a good way to do it, but I just can't think of anything. Look at how the player in RoR is just a crude model with simple animations that don't fit, it's hard to make it much better than that.
Oh well I didn't know about that price of the program. Thanks for bringing that to me. I'm sure there are other software that are affordable out there that they might be able to use. Maybe Euphoria just isn't the one. - - - Updated - - - I see what you mean. Have you ever heard of "City Car Driving"?
Well that sim has a cockpit human, but you cannot see any body parts in the cockpit view, but only from that outside.
I don't get you. You posted in a thread about wild life, people told you that ragdoll physics would take way too much time/money/effort. Then you make a thread asking about a person inside the vehicle. Do you really think it would be simulated any different? Or do you just want a visible mesh with some dude's face?
Okay first I understand what your saying, second its different to make someone drive the car compared having wildlife walking the woods of a simulator. - - - Updated - - - And what was this for? I don't get it??
No offense, as it seems English may not be your first language and that would make it be harder to search for stuff, but it seems every one of your posts that is a question or suggestion is either already addressed in game or has been discussed to death and then answered by a dev. (<-Links to the post in the topic I found the quote underneath.) Later in the same thread: NOTE: Gabester was being harsh because the guy who was posting was 1: Way offtopic, 2: Extremely irritating and providing unhelpful criticism. I do believe he is now on a 3 month temp. ban due to extremely unruly behavior in the livestream feedback thread. As far as I can tell gabester is not usually as harsh as in the above quotes, but they were the only ones I could find from a developer on this topic.
Are you completely illiterate? I mean, I linked the article and the part I was referencing was like 6 lines down.
I don't understand what your saying? What does he have to do with this topic? And I am new to this and, also THIS question has NOT be addressed by "Anyone" yet, and also I haven't asked much at all. Of and for that what ever you said at the beginning of your post, English IS my first language! - - - Updated - - - I don't understand what your saying? What does he have to do with this topic? I now know a lot about 3D modeling, I have been doing work like this for a while now, ok?
Some how I don't believe you judging from the questions you've been asking both here and the RoR forums.
I have been doing 3D work for a while now, right now I'm doing a island ocean combo commission for someone, but what I didn't know is how the N/B system works, i,e Ror, and BeamNG. So from coming here and Ror brought me to start making my car for both Ror and BeamNG. So why in the World do you not believe me?!
... this question has been address and asked so many freaking times, ITS, NOT, GOING, TO, HAPPEN!!!!!!! STOP FREAKING ASKING.
