    What is it?

Screenshot of the Week (SOTW) is a small contest that will take place Weekly.
Each week will be given out a 'theme' which will be the theme for all the screenshots on that week. (Ex. if Keyword is Offroading, all the screenshots of that week MUST be themed after that)
The keyword will be given each Sunday, and you will have time to post your screenshot until Friday.
Saturday and Sunday the pictures will be voted from a jury and the screenshot with most votes will be the winner for that week.
Me and the judges will not take part to the contest of course.

There is no prize, but the first 3 will have their name in the winners list under.

    Rules:
    • Screenshot must be inherent to the Week's Theme.
    • 1 Screenshot per User only. (If you change your mind, you can still change picture, but not after the deadline!)
    • Resolution Range: minimum of 1280x720 to 1920x1080 (Or whatever resolution is near to those if you don't use 16:9 resolutions)
    • NO EDITING, CC, Brigthness&Contrast changes.
    • Taking High-Resolution Screenshot (ALT+P) and scale it down using any Image Editor is allowed.
    • Using Ingame PostFX is allowed.
    • Attach the image to your post using the Attachment Manager!
    • Screenshot can be submitted as soon as the Keyword is given out, and the dead-line is set to Friday at 23:59 GMT+0

You picture could be rejected if it doesn't meet any of the requirements above.

    Tips:

*I highly suggest everybody to use the 'Scale-Down' technique to take great quality shots. It consists in taking a screenshot using the 'ALT+P' combination, that will generate a high-resolution image that will be saved into (Documents/BeamNG.Drive/Cache). I recommend to be in Windowed mode while using this function, as it may bug out in Fullscreen mode.

*Free Camera mode might help you getting a good camera angle for you shot. SHIFT+C to activate it, WASD To move around and mouse to turn the view.

*Hide the HUD/UI! Shift+U To toggle it.

*Lower FOV (Field of View) helps to achieve a more 'serious' shot. You can set FOV ONLY when you are in FreeCamera mode , then go to the Side-Bar, and navigate to 'Effects':

*Getting a good composition is always a +1.

*Changing Day-Time might fit better for some occasion (Google around, you will find how to do that)

Here's an example shot in which I used ONLY the ingame PostFX and the Scale-Down technique. This picture is not taking part to the contest as said above.

Re: Screenshot of the Week Contest

i interpreted it as in the engines being off (so i actually turned off the engine by setting fuel level to 0 after parking it)

here's my entry (i didn't notice the white foliage until after i took it, and i'm to lazy to go and fix it, then re-take the picture)

    screenshot_00056.jpg

image was taken using alt+p, re-sized using paint.net (strange resolution because my monitor is 1280x1024, so to maintain aspect ratio i had to go with a strange resolution)

Re: Screenshot of the Week Contest

I could not find where my high quality screen shots went. Yes I looked in the first post where they were supposed to go. My computer makes an error message noise (windows 8) when I do it, but nothing pops up. it continues to the the HD screenshot but it's not where you said it was in the first post. Any ideas I also can't find regular screenshots either. I took a screenshot from my computer. (not the game) But anyway, Iv'e been is the Subaru mood lately. I also just a while ago figured out I'm getting a Subaru WRX for my first car. I almost exploded my computer with the high quality setting.

No, it makes a beep noise. :p Error sounds a bit different.

Technicalities aside : If you are using exparimental it will be in your Documents\BeamNG.drive\cache.
If you are using stable it will be in your steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\ folder or Appdata\Local\BeamNG.drive\ if you don't have it on Steam.

Question: Can the picture be from before this week? I have a large collection of rather nice shots (IMO. :p) but now my GPU is dead and I can't take new ones.

Oh. I feel stupid -_- I must have read it too fast. I was looking in the BeamNG file location instead of documents. I updated the picture.

Alt-P isn't mandatory, but it does look a lot better than a regular screenshot

Took a little time and got this set up. Just a suggestion but if you allowed editing next week that would be awesome ;)
