D3DERR_DEVICELOST, Unable to lock vertex buffer.

    I have gotten this a few times now, game glitches out then this pops up and I have to ctrl+shft+esc to close Drive.

    I haven't got the worlds fastest PC so I'm guessing that's the cause?

    yes, its a bug.
    please report the bugs via the integrated bug reporting tool so we have a chance to fix them.

    I have just had this crash, the error reporting box didn't pop up when it crashed and when i clicked it when i opened the game it did not give me the option of selecting the correct date/time.

    I tried to open the torque3d.log file in the game directory but i got a "cannot open" message from notepad++ . It normally opens pretty much any file so i am assuming the log has been corrupted. I can only assume this would usually be the correct file to look in as i dont have too much experience other than map editing in torque3d.

    Should i upload the log file?

    no, put check if another dead beamng executable is still being run in the background - that is usually the explanation of the log file being locked still.

    That would make sense. I once again feel like an idiot, thanks :p

    Is there anyway to manually open the crash reporter? It is no longer opening with the game. I get no system tray notification.
    Probably worth adding this may be happening because it tried to open the crash reporter exe file instead of launching the game and getting to it like that.

    Im going to do a reboot, the crash seems to be pretty constant now. Yet i didn't get it once yesterday.

    EDIT: Just done a re boot and am still getting the same issue. Im going to check if it is just on one map or not.

    It would seem i only get this crash on the map "Allegany" so im not sure whether you are responsible or whether the mod author is.

    Yes, for some reason this only happens on my map, and it happens to a lot of people, even myself. I have no idea what could be causing it, but I'll try to post a log file when I get the problem again.

    Dunno..weird. I get this on your map too. I didnt get it the first few times I tried it using only the Gavril V8 4WD. But ever since then, I get it within 30 seconds of playing.

    Well the error I posted above is not the actual error. This time when the game froze to give me the Device lost error, I managed to ALT-TAB out and back into the game and immediately open the console. this prevented the error from crashing the game, but I finally got the REAL error to show up in the console....for some reason the map is forcing my video card to reset? Could this possibly have to do with the large amount of vegetation in my terrain? I did cut down the vegetation a bit too, and it still happens.

    For now ALT-Tabbing out and back in as soon as the game freezes seems to stop the game from crashing out totally.

    I'm also having this error after setting the Lighting setting to the lowest setting. The game will not start, I've tried reinstalling. I need to delete the config file to reset the settings, but I don't know where it's at.
