Released NED - Node Eating Disease

    So um yeah, this is a thing...



    Installation :
    -Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\lua\vehi cle
    -Make a copy of thrusters.lua!!!
    -Install the contents of the archive to this folder

    Command Reference:
    these are to be executed in Vehicle Lua mode from the console (press ~ to access)

    thrusters.startFire(nodeid)
    Starts a "fire" on a node, use the node number, not name!!

    thrusters.extinguishFires()
    Stop all "fires"

    thrusters.burnRate = NUMBER

    Set the "burn rate", default is 0.0005

    thrusters.heatRate = NUMBER
    Set the amount the "heat" increases. Burn rate goes up with heat Default is 0.0001.

    thrusters.spreadChance = NUMBER
    The higher this number, the less chance it will spread. Default is 2750.

    NOTE :
    This will break thrusters since it overwrites them.

    It was supposed to be fire but well. It obviously failed miserably. Goosah coined it beam eating disease and I just twisted that a little, then released it xD.

    I think it's awesome, I was laughing so hard on the B-25 falling apart with the cheesy crash sounds and all. Priceless.

    I'm extremely confused, installed it and talking to the BeamNG Lua telling it to start a fire but nothing happens, no matter what node i pick.

    Obviously i derped out, you have to use Node numbers not ID's

    @Reddustone, the id is the number. You were trying the name ;).

    for me when I type it in is says FATAL LUA ERROR...:(

    what is that?

    when you press the ~ key and type in the bar at the bottom? I did that.

    You have to change the drop down box on the left to Vehicle Lua, then the thrusters.startFire command should work. Remember, it's case sensitive.

    How do you get that smoke to show up? All that happens is this, at least for me. (And yes, I put the file in the OP in steamapps/beamng/lua/vehicle)

    What options settings do you have? Maybe I could set my graphics settings the same as yours?

    Full settings on everything. If you have tire smoke and stuff this should work fine.

    I do have tire smoke and particles enabled, but even with all settings maxed out, no particle stuff from the mod. It does work at least, here's half of a covet gone.

    This looks amazing. Can't wait to try it.
    Is there, or will there at some point be a variable for the rate of deforming?

    And is there any down side to installing this? You said it overwrites and breaks the "thrusters". Never heard of it till now.

    I'll add that. and you won't be able to use vehicles with "turbo" anymore with this enabled, only downside.
