A collection of six engine sounds that I edited. Take a look at the video and download them here. Leave me some feedback about them and let me know what you think! I'd be more than happy to take requests for others or improve whats here!

There are 3 different car engine noise. They are:
    - 6 liter V12 (6l.ogg)
    - 1.3 liter Rotary (13l.ogg)
    - 4.7 liter V8 (47.ogg)

    These two are motorcycle sounds:
    - 1000cc V4 (1000cc.ogg)
    - 1800cc V-Twin (1800cc.ogg)

The last one, called "chainsaw.ogg" is literally the sound of a gasoline powered chainsaw!

Rename the file that would like to use as, "cheetah_engine.ogg" and overwrite the same sound file under:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\art\sound

*Replace "C:\Program Files (x86)" with wherever you installed Steam.*
**DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP THE ORIGINAL SOUND!**

    Enjoy!

How are you getting these to work in-game?

I'm trying to do this myself with recorded car sounds from GRID, but I can't get the sound to come out in-game, and according to the console, it's failing to create a device buffer.

    Here's what I've been doing:
    1. Go into GRID.
    2. Start recording with FRAPS
    3. Go consistently slow at a high gear to get a constant sound for a few seconds
    4. Put recorded video into VLC Media Player to convert it to .OGG
    5. Go into Audacity and cut the sound down to about as long as the stock sound
    6. Rename as cheetah_engine.ogg and put in the sound folder

I've tried recording with both Stereo and Multichannel, along with trying to make sure that the sound file is smaller than the stock one in-case the issue is due to the file size being too large, but it still won't work.

I am not using FRAPS, only Audacity.

    1. Enable "What U Hear" or "Stereo Mix" in Windows.
    2. Tell Audacity that you would like to record using one or the other options.
    3. Start recording in audacity AS MONO and then rev the engine in your game for a few seconds.
    4. Go back into Audacity and stop your recording after a few seconds to allow for cutting.
    5. Make your desired edits to the recorded sound and cut it how you wish.
    6. Export the file and rename it as you have been doing.

As far as I know, there is no file size or length to be confined to. Just make sure the sound is mono and not stereo. That was the problem I was having when I first started.

    Hope I helped!

I totally forgot that Audacity can record...

I got the sounds to work now, thanks! I'm quite surprised how a simple pitch change sounds so believable.

You're very welcome! I'm really hoping the game will eventually accommodate for a separate engine idle sound and RPM ranges. It'll make for a bigger sound library, but tighten up the sounds in game.

I just wanted to let anyone who might care know that I will be posting some more engine sounds this week. Probably within the next few days.
