Hi, Does anyone know if changing the friction levels is possible? Whilst I have no doubt that the levels made by the tyres now is physically correct, I wouldn't mind setting the supercars tyre grip to something great just to make a weapon of a track car.
I tried to make the Bolide easier to drive, but no matter how I set it in super_wheels_R/F, nothing changes. I increased it until 3000. And by this I made all skid marks disappear. But the wheel is still spinning, slipping.
You might be changing the wrong one. Be sure to change this friction: {"super_wheel_F": { "information":{ "authors":"gabester", "name":"Civetta Bolide Front Wheels", } "slotType" : "super_wheel_F", "selfCollisionThickness":0.02, "remoteCollisionThickness":0.06, "scalebeamSpring":0.8, "scalebeamDamp":0.86, "scalebeamDeform":0.56, "scalebeamStrength":0.89, "scalenodeWeight":1.1, "flexbodies": [ ["mesh", "[group]:", "nonFlexMaterials"], //wheels ["super_wheel_FR", ["wheel_FR","wheelhub_a_FR","wheelhub_b_FR"], ["super_wheel","super"]], ["super_wheel_FL", ["wheel_FL","wheelhub_a_FL","wheelhub_b_FL"], ["super_wheel","super"]], ], "nodes": [ ["id", "posX", "posY", "posZ"], //front wheel {"nodeWeight":3.6}, {"selfCollision":false}, {"collision":true} {"frictionCoef":0.7}, {"nodeMaterial":"|NM_METAL"}, {"group":"wheelhub_a_FR"}, ["fw1r",-0.62,-1.28,0.34], {"group":"wheelhub_b_FR"}, ["fw1rr",-0.87,-1.28,0.34], {"group":"wheelhub_a_FL"}, ["fw1l",0.62,-1.28,0.34], {"group":"wheelhub_b_FL"}, ["fw1ll",0.87,-1.28,0.34], {"group":""}, ], "beams": [ ["id1:", "id2:"], {"beamType":"|NORMAL", "beamLongBound":1.0, "beamShortBound":1.0}, {"beamSpring":9501000,"beamDamp":180,"beamDeform":100000,"beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"}, //front wheel ["fw1r","fw1rr"], ["fw1l","fw1ll"], {"beamPrecompression":1, "beamType":"|NORMAL", "beamLongBound":1.0, "beamShortBound":1.0}, ], "hubWheels": [ ["name","group","node1:","node2:","nodeS","nodeArm:","wheelDir"], {"enableTireSideSupportBeams":true}, //general settings {"radius":0.32}, {"hubRadius":0.20}, {"wheelOffset":-0.05}, {"hubWidth":0.225}, {"tireWidth":0.215}, {"numRays":12}, //hub options {"hubBeamSpring":1601000, "hubBeamDamp":14}, {"beamSpring":1601000, "beamDamp":14}, {"hubBeamDeform":90000, "hubBeamStrength":140000}, {"beamDeform":180000,"beamStrength":360000}, {"hubNodeWeight":0.41}, {"hubNodeMaterial":"|NM_METAL"}, {"hubFrictionCoef":0.7}, //tire options {"wheelTreadBeamSpring":321000,"wheelTreadBeamDamp":70,"wheelTreadBeamDeform":55000,"wheelTreadBeamStrength":55000}, {"wheelPeripheryBeamSpring":321000,"wheelPeripheryBeamDamp":70,"wheelPeripheryBeamDeform":55000,"wheelPeripheryBeamStrength":55000}, {"springExpansion":1601000, "dampExpansion":14}, {"nodeWeight":0.41}, {"nodeMaterial":"|NM_RUBBER"}, {"frictionCoef":3.25}, // {"pressurePSI":30}, {"maxPressurePSI":1400}, {"reinforcementPressurePSI":30}, {"pressureSpring":2001000}, {"reinforcementPressureSpring":160000}, {"pressureDamp":70}, {"reinforcementPressureDamp":70}, //front {"selfCollision":false} {"collision":true} ["FR", "wheel_FR", "fw1rr", "fw1r", 9999, "fa4r", 1], ["FL", "wheel_FL", "fw1ll", "fw1l", 9999, "fa4l", -1], {"propulsed":0}, ], "triangles": [ ["id1:","id2:","id3:"], ], } }
Hi guys, I managed to change the friction coefficient of the tires, but after I launched the game, instead of tire skid marks I have huge orange squares that say "no material". Does anybody have an idea how to fix this? I change the coef back to what is was normally, but the problem persisted...
Updating now, though I just got the game a couple of days ago. I restarted it, problem was still there. I'll let you know what I'm done updating
I'm sorry if this is a thread hijack, but I feel it's related... Has the the tire 'max rotation speed' been lowered? I used to be able to get to 500mph+ no problem, but now I have stability issues at a much lower MPH (455). (imported from here)via Imgflip GIF Maker I would love to know how to increase the top speed of a tire
With the new update there are no more orange square or any other shapes there And the game seems way more stable and has only crashed once
There is no "max rotation speed." We made some changes to the tires and they perform as expected with reasonable speeds. I don't think real stock truck tires can go 400-500 mph I'm not really sure what you could do to make it more stable at high speeds. Experiment with the values (there are a lot of them).
