"Optional Repair" or "Saving Damage"

I got the idea from one of my favorite Top Gear episodes (embedded below). What if you could save damage, or be given the option not to repair your car? In this video, the Top Gear crew attempt to destroy a Toyota. If I tried to recreate this in RoR, then shut down the program, I would lose any damage I had inflicted. Instead, I'd like to see a system that allows you to save a car in its current condition. That way, you could see how far you could push your car before it won't work. If you didn't understand a word I said (which is probable ), think about it like this: a system that saves a car in its current condition. If I exit the game then start it back, I would get my car back in the condition it was before. Of course, you would always have the option of repairing it.

Considering they are planning on having damage be repairable through payment, it would only make sense for it to be persistent. Otherwise you could just quit the game and open it back up to fix all your cars for free, which would defeat the purpose a little bit

 

In the free crash mode, it would be awesome to have selective repair.
If my car got too smashed up to move, I would only need to repair for example the axle to make it driveable again.

 

I think this has already been tacitly confirmed. I remember Gabester alluding to it, unless I remember wrongly.

 

Like real money payment to fix your car?
That wouldn't be fun.

Are there some modes where you don't have to pay for damage? If I just wanted to crash a car, could I go into another mode where I wouldn't have to pay for damage? Also, what happens if I run out of money and all my cars are wrecked? How could I repair them?

Obviously that means there are other modes where you don't have to pay. You should really stop boosting your postcount.

Gabe has stated in the Ibishu Pigeon thread that there will always be a crappy car you can get for free if you are unable to afford fixing your cars or purchasing a new one.

 

I would just have an army of pigeons.

 

Yes. That much is obvious. I was asking what other modes, not if there were other modes.

 

Like a career mode with unlimited money.

 

So I hope there is a free roam mode! like you can choose the car you want and just pick a map or an big world and just ride and crash,drift,race like you want and repair the car for free! sorry if repost or something!

 

Oh trust me, there will certainly be a sandbox mode.
I remember reading a reply in another thread. That and this thread has posts that kinda hint towards it.
