Install problems related to DirectX

Just bought and downloaded BeamNG.drive. Trying to install on Windows 7 Professional. Install starts ok, but after some time I get the popup saying:

"BeamNG.drive-0.3 requires a newer version of DirectX than you have installed on your computer. Would you like to launch the Microsoft DirectX web installer?"

I say "Yes", then the BeamNG.drive installer continues with running the update, and I get the "Installation successfully installed dialog". Then when I start the game, I get:

"Unable to load game library: ...\BeamNGSandbox.x86.dll "

dxdiag reports that I have DirectX 11, DxDiag 6.01.7601.17514, which seems to be the latest for Windows 7, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directx.

Please help!

OK, So I got it to work by disabling anti virus, then running the updater as administrator

 

You can have Dx11 installed but on a new build make sure you get directX 9.0c on there. A new Windows 7 install will say Dx11 but will not have all 9.0c files installed.

1) Installed DirectX 9.0c. It finished with "it might have not successfully installed, do you want to reinstall with default settings?" I said yes, reinstalled. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429
2) Installed the "latest" too: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35, did the same dance, reinstalled it too.
3) Reboot.
