(imported from here) NEW VERSION DOWNLOAD Old versions: DOWNLOAD (Version 1) from Mediafire DOWNLOAD (Original) from Mediafire Changes Increased FPS a fair bit Day night cycle Fixed everything up for newer BeamNG (and included all resources this time) Updates: #1 - More roads, new town, new beach, quarry. #2 - Another area, not wooded and a few more tracks. #3 - Overview video #4 - Almost done #5 - Finished! #6 - Update 1 - More FPS #7 - Update 2 - Working again Latest images Fijiti Getting slightly bored of the maps packaged with the game, I decided to have a mess around with the map editor to see what could be created. A few crashes and a lot of swearing later I give to you the beginnings of my new map, Fijiti. The terrain is varied and complex, which is great for all vehicles (so far anyway). The map is quite big; not entirely sure how big but it seems big - maybe around the size of Dry Rock Island (when it's completed anyway). At the moment it pretty much consists entirely of forest, with different types of woodland across different areas of the map. I may flatten off the next bits that I'm going to do to allow for some less dense forest areas, but I'm unsure. I've tried to keep it as general purpose as I could, so you could have a drive around and explore if you wanted, or throw yourself off the nearest cliff, or down a hill into the trees. Anyway... Main Roads There are a series of main roads that go around the large island, visiting small villages dotted around the map. These roads take the much smoother route, trying to avoid large hills and inclines, however this means that it takes longer to get everywhere. Offroad tracks There's also loads of offroad track to drive around, going through the hills and around cliffsides you can reach areas you wouldn't be able to get to via the main roads. There's loads of variation to these too: Some steep and bumpy that climb up to the tops of hills, some with rocks and dense foliage and some more smooth trails that are merely shortcuts linking the main roads together.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) Wow this look great, looks very detailed. I look forward to the finished product!
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) Looks awesome. Hopefully I'll get to destroy the local ecosystem with the 4x4 sometime soon.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) I've done a little more on it today. Got more hills and roads down and added a town with its own beach. I've also put in a quarry for driving around or launching yourself off of. New town And its beach The quarry Hopefully I'll have time to finish it soon. Should only be a few more days of work, but I'm not sure how busy I'll be.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) More updates! Managed to get another area done. This one's not wooded and has smoother roads so it's better for all the vehicles. It also has some grouped housing and some more offroad sections. Also, I've added some extra bits further back in the map too. Some roads end abruptly into the sea and I've added some more connecting roads. I'll try to get a video up of the highlights tomorrow. I've recorded the clips, but I don't have time to put them together and render just yet.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) Looks like I'll only be playing this on my gaming rig then This map looks really gorgeous, but I think it'll need some guts to run it...
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) I get between 40 and 60 fps on my PC, which is about the same as the levels provided with the game. Not sure how it will run for you, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) I get about the same performance as I do on the regular levels. If it really kills your fps when I release it then I could make some changes.
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) Here's that video I promised. It shows a lot of the map off, however there's a load that I've missed because I forgot to get footage of it. I guess you'll just have to wait for that. Video
Re: Foejitus (name is a WIP too) This looks fantastic! Reall good job you did there with the vegetation
Re: [Almost done] Fijiti (formerly Foejitus) Thanks! There's certainly plenty of it Alright. I worked extra hard today and I'm pretty much near completion of the map. I've got to sort out a few things and maybe smooth the roads out a bit, however I quite like them as they are. Until I'm done, have a look at some more pictures of the new area I've done today: Small valley New town Even more roads! And here's an overview of the entire map. Don't mind the grass around the edges, you can't see that far into the sea anyway. Also, the terrain is much more rough than what you can see in the image: In a few hours I should have a version good to go, so you can do what you like with it.
Re: Fijiti And I'm done. Have fun . If there's any issues you'll have to put up with them for a while, I won't be around for a bit. OLD DOWNLOADS (New ones at the top of this page, or on the next page) DOWNLOAD (Attachment) DOWNLOAD (Mediafire)
Re: Fijiti When I try to open the map in game, it says cannot find resources and a error message pops up 10+ times. I installed it properly, extracted to levels.
Re: Fijiti Does it tell you what's missing? Also, is your game up to date? I can't seem to replicate the problem, however it uses a few resources from dry rock island so I don't know.
Re: Fijiti Yes I have the latest version 1.4 and the messages say textures missing and a file directory to the missing texture which is a bit strange.
Re: Fijiti That's really odd.. Could you tell me what the directory is? If no one else is having this problem then it might be something your end. Try re-updating the game again to see if it finds anything.
Re: Fijiti Nice Map you have there after what looks like numerous hours of issues and problems to solve during your map making adventure did you come accross the Direct3D_lost error? I did. Anytime i place a lot of vegetation in a congested area it causes that error, gave the map to friends and thye get the error as well (2 different friends) one with a mediocre PC one with Mid end PC and my own Mid-High end gaming Rig that runs the game at approx 70-90fps @1080P on small island. Edit: oops ignore the small island sedan crash pics
