Hey i want to mod the moonwalker and started by replacing the exhaust with sidepipes.

i made the mesh and uv mapped it, corrected the normal map, but havent done the color map yet

    i ran into 2 problems:
    - the edges of the parts look ugly, the edge split used to make them look sharp seems to get lost while importing the .dae, and i dont want to apply a edge split modifier to every single object, is there a better way?
    - the collision / deform mesh is in the jbeam file, right? how can i edit it, because the sidepipes dont collide correct. ive seen this thread http://www.beamng.com/threads/3873-JBeam-with-Blender but i dont get it

btw is there a way to not replace the default part but add a new one which uses different color/normal maps and maybe is in an own file itself?

i managed to make both the modified and the stock exhaust aviable by duplicating the part in moonhawk_engine.jbeam and then modifying name & mesh name
but ill have to use the same textures for now, althought i think it will be possible to give it an own one by editing the material files
