executable not found: BeamNG.drive.x86.exe

i have just purchased and installed the game, but when i try an load the game with the launcher, it posts a message with "executable not found: BeamNG.drive.x86.exe"

i have tried re-installing the game, but it wont let me put the serial number in and so wont let me install.

i cant find anything on the forum to answer the problem.

I am using an 64bit system but i wouldnt imagine this is the issue.

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive and then see there is a Launcher Application in the file try clicking on that

When you say 'C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Downloads\updater_temp_fix', what do you actually mean by this?

No one mentioned that directory at all. They mentioned this one: C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive

Which basic computer skill should have told you that C:\ is one of the hard drives listed in My Computer. C:\Users therefore is a folder in C:\. C:\Users\YOUR NAME is a teeny tiny bit harder, you have to swap YOUR NAME for the name of your computer login so lets say mine was SixSixSevenSeven, I now have to look for a folder in C:\Users which is called SixSixSevenSeven.
Seriously mate. Open your documents. At the top of the window is a little address bar. Remove everything in it.
Type:
C:\Users\<insert your login here>\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.Drive
Press enter
done.

might it be because I have norton internet security?

 

YOu ignored the advice on the antivirus then? Norton does block the beamNG updater.

 

I have the same problem but its slightly different, when i installed BeamNG, it decided not to install BeamNG.drive.x86.exe with the other files so its not with the launcher in the BeamNG folder and basically, i don't know how to fix that. ive already checked my firewall and all but i just don't have the file, how can i get it/install it with the game? THX.

 

Have you tried reinstalling? It might still be an antivirus.
Also, please don't use disruptive fonts, it won't get you more attention.

 

OK, wont and yes, i have re installed 3 times already and i didn't get anything.

 

also, @op, you can also erase everything in the address bar in your documents folder, and then just type in %appdata%, then go up a folder, open Local, then open the BeamNG folder, and your game should be located there

 

so can someone plz help me on this exe. fole missing thing? I have tried everthing that you have said and what other threads have said but I have not had and luck with this darn files error. so plz any other tips?

 

Something is detecting it as a virus and deleting it. Disable anything you can think of, antivirus, firewall, etc, then download it again

im in the same boat. im trying to download and ive windows 8.1 and Mcafee. i get an error message saying i need to update Direct X.

anyone know??

 

i could just be stupid and cant find it any chance you could link where to download i off steam
