Well, the original version of the map had an issue, when the terrain was created, the square size was somehow set to 8, upon fixing this, it mostly flattened the map, therein, I started over. This kind of mistake hopefully won't happen again, but I'm pleased with the outcome. Features of the "New" apocalypse: An industrial park near spawn Lumpy worn roads, worse than dry rock island A bridge A custom abandoned building made by AutoFan, seen in the screenshots Hubcap eating, suspension destroying, bumper removing pot holes A dirt road through the woods, leading to a clearing which I have plans for later An offroad course, which I also have plans for later A spawn area, surrounded by rocks, because the rocks are always watching. Rocks - On hold, due to technical difficulties with the map, and a lack of motivation to complete it after having to start over. Will be starting a new stunt themed map, once that is finished I'll come back to this map.
The map looks cool. BTW... I have a rock. (imported from here) His name is Wilson II. (First Wilson became a cucumber)
Having a few issues, for one, found out mesh roads don't work, so the bridge is going to be a PITA to make work, and I can't seem to reset the spawn. Think anyone could give me some advice? It keeps spawning me at the default location in the ground, I've setup another spawn sphere, but it doesn't seem to work. I'll post later on showing a few things I changed and added today. I've also got an issue of textures vanishing from my "Art" folder in teh Apocalypse map folder, I cannot seem to fix it, I just keep having to copy over dry rock island's assets.
Mesh roads are not yet integrated which is disappointing, makes it hard to make bridges. As far as the spawn goes I am pretty sure you can only have one spawn sphere, delete the ones you added and move the default spawn sphere to the location you like. You can move the spawn sphere by selecting it in the scene tree, it is usually in the player drop points folder, and can be moved by clicking on it and using Y,X,Z. Hope this helps As far as having things disappearing from your art folder i am not sure how to fix this. i have been having the same issue myself
Yep, worked, side note, do not ever rotate the spawn sphere, your car may crabwalk if you do. Working on a few things, may release a version 0.1 of the map tonight, I don't even think it's worthy of a version number yet, but maybe someone would be more willing to help me with assets if they see my creative madness. And the rocks..
I put two spawnpoints into the Leap of Death map I'm working on improving, and it seems that you spawn randomly inbetween the two spawnpoints. Sometimes the one, sometimes the other. I just copied the first spawnpoint, first ctrl+c then ctrl+v at another location. On another note, your map looks great. Just need more rocks. Rock On! (imported from here)
Thanks for all the positive feedback folks, I intend to keep up the work on this map, though it will be slower over the week, it's too cold to bother doing much this weekend, so I'll be plugging away at it.
I tried adding a road texture into the game, but I never successfully allowed it to save. It would add, look right, and then it would not be there when I reloaded the map. It discouraged me a lot, but now I'm back to my map... Hoping for to find out what I should do to fill the empty spaces.
