Fanatec CSR input map. everything works but the steering. i need help

I've spent the past 6 hours trying to get this working. I finally just uninstalled and reinstalled "Drive" just to start fresh.. My problem is: all controls work except for the wheel axis.. its mapped as xaxis in the fanatec CSR code I downloaded from the 11 page "post your input maps" I read all pages and cant figure out why every button and pedal is working and not the steering..ive changed GUID's and done what I can.. still no x axis .. when I use the console ~ it says "joy_steer: unknown command" when I hit K for the debug it reads the xaxis fine. but wont recognize it during game play.. what am I doing wrong or not doing at all.. I guess I should add that Im using the Paid version.. Not sure what other details to include.. Windows 7 I also have a Xbox wireless receiver I can bind the wheel to.. I use that when I play SpinTires. Not sure if that can be used as a shortcut...

 

joy_steer is the problem, open up the input map, change it to steer_direct
