Sunset Island V1.2: Pretty much finished by this point, has a nice new concrete drifting area and small dirt track section. V1.2 Download attached at the bottom! The go to vacation destination for all BeamNG Drivers! Lose yourself in the beautiful sights, take a swim in the local lakes and river, or relax in your private beach-side apartment. Ok, not a great map by any means, but a fun map designed for me! Anyway the idea was to make a nice looking sunset themed island, with nice green water and sandy beaches. Bear in mind this is my first map. Done that. To get the full Sunset Island experience, i recommend having Shader quality at NORMAL at least, and Lighting quality should be at least set at LOW. If these are turned any lower, the map looks much less inviting, with pale cold looking water. The rest of the settings dont drastically change the feel of the map, so configure away! Currently, this is pretty much the features: there's a small island where you start out (and a narrow treacherous bridge to cross over to 'mainland') a decrepit quarter-mile drag strip which loops round (also a bridge) a runway a lake a meandering river small industrial playground rock crawling off road bit small race track tiny dirt track with jumps large concrete drifting area that's pretty much it. Would anyone be interested in making signs for the map? Not really sure how to go about it, but id like some signs to point to the different areas. I was thinking signs pointing to: Runway 1/4 Mile Drag Strip Race Track Apartment Lake Fuel Station Rock Crawling Area I'd be super grateful if anyone can do this, and obviously would get due credit.
Re: Sunset Island Changed the sun to be a big more red than green! Also, added a small 'industrial' section, with the ability to drive up on the building roofs. And starting a rock crawling bit too! Let me know of anymore suggestions!
Re: Sunset Island Seems to be slightly better than the stock maps. I get around 35FPS on most graphics heavy maps (Dry Rock Island, Industrial and Small Island), whereas on my map its around 45 FPS. Although thats probably due to the fact it has less stuff in it, and the goal is to make it feel nice and dense. Its not going to be as FPS friendly as say Gridmap though. Im GPU limited, so in Gridmap where theres less fancy things to render, i get above 60FPS. I should note, this is all with max graphics, postFX all on with 4xAA. If you turn off postFX and graphics settings to minimum, it would be fine.

(actually the plane wasnt moving, that would have been too hard to acheive!) - - - Updated - - - Ok having a couple problems, does anyone know why some objects have no textures? When you put the road barrier into the game, its sort of has a blurry grey texture like the first pic, then if you reload the map its just the orange no texture. How do i fix this? This needs to be fixed before i release the map. The footbridge i used for the start/finish line on the drag strip also has this problem. I've just found out that the Race Curbs also have no textures. EDIT* After a while of forum searching, i fixed the problem!
Re: Sunset Island You need more vegetation, and possibly some elevations in the terrain so it doesn't look as flat as it is now.

Re: Sunset Island BETA V1 Are you sure? I just tried the copy i uploaded, and it works fine for me!? Have you unzipped it properly, then put the sunset_island folder into BeamNG.drive/levels? Should be fine. If anyone else has tried it, let me know if it worked.
