a) upload your file as attachment as .webm (or use some url) b) after uploading and saving the post, get the link to the attachment c) use the new fancy [ webm ] bbcode like this: so you may ask why the video is so big, well it resizes to the available screen space, just try yourself and resize your browser window Code: [ webm= ]http://www.beamng.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30935&d=1402188092[/ webm ] to produce such: [webm=]http://www.beamng.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30935&d=1402188092[/webm]
test [webm=]http://www.beamng.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30942&stc=1&d=1402192574[/webm] [webm=]http://www.beamng.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30943&stc=1&d=1402192574[/webm] edit: removed tag, auto-play videos with audio are annoying. audio should probably be stripped out of the webm. is there an option for that? is this a vbulletin plugin?
Everything webm is broken for me. I suspect it is my proxy doing it but I thought I'd point it out. EXIT: Nope, it is everything webm. Sorry.
Suuuure. Better quality, smaller size and etc. It's a quick way to share video/shorts instead of uploading to youtube or whatever. - - - Updated - - - Don't want to ask much but.. can we have somekind of resize according to the real size of the video? Like, if the video is smaller than the screenspace, the videobox gets resized to the video size, if the video is bigger, then it get resized to the screenspace (pretty much like images). So small size video doesn't get utterly zoomed in.
I think he was saying that it is better than gifs. (You might be agreeing, but I can't tell with text. ) It still doesn't work, but I think it is because I'm on mobile. Sucks, but that's something I have to deal with everywhere.
Fixed your post for you. Works just fine on android - - - Updated - - - There we go, android 4.2 and a version of chrome for android which I havent updated in months
Dang, I even have chrome for iOS. I don't even know what iOS supports (don't judge ) but is there a chance that there are alternate versions of webm. Like html5 maybe? IDK
Because apple hate us all, they don't actually allow true alternative browsers on iOS. Chrome on iOS is simply a wrapper around safari, its the safari rendering engine with googles toolbars stuck all over it essentially. WebM is being pushed as the web based media standard for HTML5. There arent really any other alternatives unless you want to go back to flash, but because apple hate us all that wouldnt help you either
the safari rendering engine with googles toolbars stuck all over it? i guess that isn't completely wrong, but the WebKit engine (an Apple creation that is currently open source) was previously used by chrome's desktop version as well - did you consider that version of chrome just a wrapper around safari too? it's a little disingenuous to say that chrome for iOS is a wrapper around safari - apple simply restricts iOS browsers to using the webkit browser engine, so chrome devs are forced to build their product around the WebKit engine. i just think you oversimplified it is all. the bottom line is that iOS doesn't support webm and likely will never support it. http://caniuse.com/webm
