OK, for the life of me I can't figure out how to make the AI do something meaningful. Really I'd just like another car or two driving around out there for me to crash into. I'd love to do something simple: Load up a map, let's say Utah. Spawn 2 vehicles, have them on the same road facing each other maybe a half mile apart. Use AI on vehicle 1 to make it start driving towards me Switch to vehicle 2, proceed driving towards vehicle 1 for a head-on crash. But alas...every time I try this vehicle 1 instead turns around and drives the wrong direction, away from me. Trying to AI control vehicle 2 results in the same. Another problem....say I start AI on vehicle 1, then switch to vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 stays in first gear, revving its engine to the max, and only slowly driving away from me. I've looked at the AI article in the wiki and it's not of much help: http://wiki.beamng.com/Enabling_AI_Controlled_Vehicles Doesn't even explain the different modes: random, manual, flee, stopping. If there's another way to get a car driving around on the map I can crash into, I'm all ears.
Random: AI drives randomly on the map Flee: AI drive randomly and tries to avoid player Manual: Not usable from APP, ignore it. Stopping: AI stops the car
Seems like it wouldn't be hard to make the opposite of 'Flee' and have the opposing car try to catch me. Any suggestions on the other vehicle getting stuck in first gear as soon as I switch away from it?
It's more complex than that. The AI needs to continuously calculate a path according to the player movements and etc. For the second issue, I never experienced something like that, does it happen on all maps?
