Hello, some of our users are experiencing 'Crash on Start'. We had a look at many crash reports, and many of them are related to external softwares that are interfering with the game. Here you can find an up to date list of the softwares known to cause issues: https://steamcommunity.com/app/284160/discussions/0/496880203073823163/
@Nadeox1 I know you don't want stuff posted on here but you can run the game seamlessly on the 32-bit version.
That can be helpful, thanks for reporting. It may be a good idea that anybody having the crash issue to try running the game in 32bit mode. You can do that from 'Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.Drive/Bin32'. Let us know if it's the same for you or not.
There is no graphic change between 32bit version and 64bit :\ You maybe just need to set the graphics to something higher. If you still think it's not normal, take a screenshot and upload it here.. Also, I haven't mentioned AVG, just that weird antivirus from Lavasoft.. :\
still having trouble booting the game, never had antivirus and a new system build with not much on it besides steam. tried 32 bit as well.
I haven't mentioned any other programs apart from that one... :\ It would help if each of you would upload the game logs to their post: beamng.log & beamng-launcher.log - both are in Documents/BeamNG.Drive.
Ok, I've added a 'how you can help us' section to the first post. Please contribute, it will help us a lot.
Here is my zipped crashReports folder: http://www.filedropper.com/crashreports I do not have Ad-Aware installed nor has it ever been installed.
SpeedBird, were you able to play the previous version? It seems to be an issue with the nvidia DX10 driver, which probably would not have started with this release unless you recently upgraded your nvidia display driver. I would suggest disabling any screen overlay or recording tools, including the Steam overlay, and make sure you have the latest nvidia display driver. Try resetting any 3d settings in the nvidia preferences to the defaults. If that doesn't help, you may want to try downgrading your nvidia driver to the older 352.86 driver from May. You may need to use a driver removal tool to make sure all remnants of the old driver are removed. Let us know if any of this helps.
For those who can run the 32-bit version directly, but launching directly from Steam crashes: This is likely due to the Lavasoft Web Companion. You can verify this by looking in your crashreports folder, in one of the subfolders in crashrpt.xml you will probably see <ExceptionModule>C:\Windows\System32\LavasoftTcpService64.dll</ExceptionModule> Make sure you uninstall "Web Companion" or "Lavasoft Web Companion" from the installed programs list and restart your machine. If the game still crashes, then you need to manually remove the problem dlls as follows: Start Command Prompt as an administrator by right-clicking it and selecting "Run as administrator." Enter the this command to reset the network adapter: "netsh winsock reset" without the quotation marks and hit Enter. Restart the computer. Delete these two files: C:\WINDOWS\system32\LavasoftTcpService64.dll C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\LavasoftTcpService.dll You should then be able to run the 64-bit version of the game as usual.
First of all thanks for getting rid of all those god awful adverts off my pc But most of all thanks for sorting out my BeamNg !!
Last night I checked my Nvidia driver version and noticed it was 341.81. I checked for updates and GeForce Experience reported I already have the latest drivers. Confused, I searched Nvidia's website and found this. It seems they stopped including support for all DX10-based cards in their unified driver just over a year ago (I currently have a GT220 based card). I would guess the 'legacy' driver is the issue... I disabled the Steam overlay as suggested and checked there were no other screen overlays in use. I also tried launching directly from both the 32-bit and 64-bit executables but still had no joy. I actually hadn't played BeamNG for almost a year, I recently rebuilt my PC and decided to give it another go. The only thing my rebuilt PC has in common with my old one is the graphics card, everything else has been heavily upgraded. I was planning to buy a GTX 750Ti as a replacement when this card was no longer 'current' enough for other software I have. I don't think I'll bother now after finding out Nvidia effectively ruled my card EOL less than 4 years after I purchased it from new (I bought it in September 2010). It maybe time for me to look in ATI's direction...
Doesn't suppprt DX11, wont work with the latest game version. If you want to play the game you either have to get a new GPU or downgrade to 0.4.0.6
my game crashes even though I do not have any of the mentioned software on my computer. why would it be crashing ? and how could I fix it
