I'm trying to get a scope on how many people want to use their Accu-Force with BeamNG. At this time there is FFB data is being sent to the wheel it seems but no movement is actually produced, so I am just using a spring effect. I'm trying to arrange that Simxperience send them a wheel for them to get it working but it's not really worth it to them if just one person is asking. Am I the only one here with this wheel?
That's a serious wheel. I run a t500rs but would love to see the difference between a hi end consumer wheel and an actual professional grade setup. someone from the Dev team should be able to help you.
For those of you who don't know me, I own SimXperience and represent the AccuForce in matters of game compatibility. We're happy to work with any game developer to get their code working with the AccuForce wheel. It rarely requires that the game developer have our wheel in hand because we conform to the DirectInput standard and utilize standard Microsoft provided Windows drivers. The good news in this for game devs is that we're one of 5 or 6 companies producing direct drive force feedback wheels that utilize the same Microsoft driver set and conforming to the DirectInput standard. Getting a game to work with the AccuForce means it will also work with 5 other brands and probably more in the future. We've yet to research BeamNG compatibility, but I expect only a few game tweaks will be needed to get things running properly. As far as numbers go, I have no idea how many BeamNG users there are but I do know there are many AccuForce users. As realistic direct drive force feedback wheels go, the AccuForce is no doubt the most highly deployed. From my perspective, sales numbers are irrelevant. We'll help any game dev to achieve DirecInput compatibility with the AccuForce. The best way to reach me to discuss these matters is by email: bvillersjr [at] SimXperience [dot] com
Your attitude and involvement in your own products should be the new industry standard in consumer relations. if you take care of your customers like this and take the time to reach out to the community, I can only imagine how good your customer service is. thanks for stopping by, this is a game that really deserves a wheel like this.
Hello, I talked to one of your mates via email earlier this year (july 26th), but got no response so far. Glad to see your involvement again I'll privately forward you the details of the previous discussion so we can continue were we left off. As you say, I've detected other wheels with malfunctioning force feedback, and they all happen to use the same firmware as your steering wheel. Fixing compatibility with your wheel should fix a couple more wheels models indeed. Rest of steering wheels in the market seem to work fine, even force feedback joysticks (as reported by some of our users). So I'm really curious as to why that firmware and BeamNG won't cooperate together, I hope we will find a fix soon. (posting here publicly just to let everyone know that we're working on the issue; we'll continue the conversacions privately)
This is fantastic news. I had been liaising with Darin about it earlier this year but didn't get too far. Thanks for your service and for a truly awesome bit of kit for my race rig, the stage 4 is next Very nicely put. The wheel is easily worth the money. I have had zero regrets and it gets more fun every time I use it, especially with the proper race sims where you can utilize their plugin which removes the normal ffb and provides multiple, customizable ffb effects all based on the live telemetry of the game. It makes the in game ffb seem truly inferior. If your into driving games, it really has to be experienced.
I stepped up from a Logitech g25 to a t500rs and the difference was astounding. have you used the thrustmaster? does the direct drive accuforce really take it to an entire new level like the t500rs did for the g25? As for driving Sims go, everything feels canned after playing beam ng. rfactor 2 is still a great game but nothing feels as organic as beam does. the t500rs is plenty of wheel for me now, but in a few years after I've gone vr and all that I might be tempted to try one out. I almost bought a 400 dollar shifter from FREX so the wheel isnt a huge stretch.
My good sim driving friend Jay has that wheel and I have probably had about 4-6 hours using it. I prefer the feel in some ways to the Logitech wheels but it lacks fidelity in my opinion, seems too stiff at times to emulate wheel weight where the G wheels are light as a feather and you can feel lots more just weaker. In the last 8 years at least, I've owned a Driveforce Pro, G25, G27, Fanatic Clubsport WB with BMW GT2 wheel and now the AF. Sold the Driveforce for £20 lol Both the Logitech G wheels are still going and are used almost everyday by my friends. After several problems with the Fanatec Wheel in the first few month due to poor design, I sent it back again and got a £720 refund, thank god! The Accu-Force is most certainly on a whole different level, all of the others wheels I have owned all sorta fall into the toy category. This is not a toy, I read that if you used it as a winch it could dead lift 320lb or kg, I cant remember. Mine came to £1400 with shipping to UK in total. I learn more about it all the time and will look forward to a long future with it.
That makes sense. I get along fine with the thrust master but it's just a hi end toy like you said. I'd live to demo an accu one day.
I was wondering just last night what Beam would feel like on a DD wheel. I have a Fanatec GT2 and Beam seems to be the only game that gives realistic FFB, everything else is pretty lame by comparison. Just a shame that cars kind of freak out at higher speed.
hi, i have a question regarding the xbox one if you don't mind or the forum mods. If you guys are working with Microsoft does that mean that your wheel will work with the xbox one?
