    Good day,

I'm making this thread on Nadeox1's request, and it's worth noting that I got a PM from monte379 saying that he has the exact same issue as me. He said he'd post his perf graphs as well, so await those.

Anyway, here's the issue: with my hardware (i5 4690 @ turbo clocks, GTX 970 @ 1300Mhz stock, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate, 450W 80+ Bronze PSU), I get poor performance. I'll get to the framerates soon, but here's the setup:
    Untitled2.png < I'm actually running at 3.9GHz, forcing Turbo.
Untitled.png < Not overclocked, running full speed, recent drivers

My settings are basically Normal with High Shadows, Low SSAO, HDR and no DR

    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-23-07.png
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-23-13.png

In a lot of situations, I can't get a solid 60FPS at medium settings, more like mid to high 40s, which is unreasonable for a GTX 970.

Monte379 says that his R9 280 gets around 30FPS, which is also unreasonable for that hardware.

Generally, it's 50-ish FPS for most maps, but ECUSA, JRI, and Port all are regularly 40FPS and certain corners of ECUSA are into the high 30s with normal settings. Of course, Gridmap and other very simple maps easily hit the Vsync limit and don't ever drop below it, but whenever there's anything intensive on screen, frames start dropping.

The worst part is that the framerate is so dependent on camera angle, looking one way it's a solid 60, orbiting around the car drops from 60 to 50 to 40 and then back to 60 as the camera returns to the starting position. Rounding a corner in the town in ECUSA means FPS goes from high 50s to low 40s, which is extremely disorientating to have the game slow down 20%.

Some examples of my low framerates:
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-16-51.png
BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-14-49.png <using the traffic cone to remove CPU load: still low FPS
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-12-48.png

    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-09-09.png

Here's a comparison with different settings. Mesh settings does the most difference, giving around a six to ten FPS difference.

Developers, here are the performance graphs for particularly slow scenes:
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-03-49.png
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-37-20.png
    BeamNG.drive.x64 2016-03-15 19-46-26.png

So, with that out of the way, here are a list of things I've done
    - Uninstall (with DDU) the display drivers, reinstalled latest version: did not change performance
    - Downgrade driver: did not change performance
    - Nvidia Control Panel: turned everything off
    - High Performance Mode
    - Tried overclocking, didn't really help
    - Reinstall BeamNG
    - Cleared cache
    - Endlessly fiddled around with game settings
    - Reset game settings
    - Kept temperatures for CPU and GPU under 70 C

That's why I'm here. I can't get a smooth experience, I've done everything on my end, and I and other individuals are still experiencing lower-than-expected framerates for good hardware.

Now, I'm sure somebody will tell me that they get 20FPS and that that's to be expected or that my framerate is good and I'm just a FPS-whore, but with a GTX 970 that can downsample most other games from either 1440p or 4K at high settings, I still think this performance is unreasonable for such a card. Ultimately, the game is unpleasant to play because of constant slowdowns.

Hello, here are my specs: Intel i7 3770k, Radeon R9 280, windows 10 64 bit. I am thinking I should be getting some more fps. As what randomshortguy said I get around 30 fps that seems to be mostly in ECA town, not everywhere.

Here are official maps and the performance graphs:

    Hirochi Raceway

As you can see the highest average fps besides gridmap is 42 at Hirochi Raceway. That is also stationary and may fluctuate during driving.

Here are my settings. Dynamic reflection is stock settings.

You may think it seems fine but I feel with my hardware the fps should be somewhere around 50-55 or at least more than in the pics. Any feedback would be appreciated and I can get more info if needed.

Edit: The fps also increases and decreases depending on the camera angle which is kind of annoying.

@randomshortguy You have FPS limiter on. Please disable and redo the graphs part. If possible, remove all the UI apps before.
@monte379 You have VSync on, as said abovem turn it off and redo the graphs, possibly without any UI apps visible.

Thanks for the graphs, that will help us to see where the problem is coming from.
We already have some ideas we are working on.

I already posted this to the conversation thread, but here it is again, with Vsync and FPS limiter off.
