-Yo, here I'll post all mods/skins that I am working on and hopefully will release sooner or later -I will try and keep the mods rather realistic and somewhat classy(so no oversized wings(unless needed), cheap hood/roof nfs scoops etc.) I am a big fan of bodykits for customisation purposes in games, so I hope to add a bunch of those...but as I said, I'll try to keep it classy and fitting -You are very welcome to suggest mod ideas for skins/body parts/performance parts/rims..etc.! If I like it, it may find its way in the game I'll post pics of what I am currently working on in the thread. All right! Here are the download files and how to install them: Installation: Download the file, for example "High_customs_200BX.zip" and put it here: YourName/Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods You don't have to extract the .zip! Download files(all in the attachments!): 1. High_customs_200BX.zip -Contains three custom front bumpers and one custom hood. Choose them in the parts selector(ctrl+w). Also use the bumpers in combination with the wide body fenders, so they fit. More parts to come in the future. If you have any suggestions, either visual or performance wise share them with me Have fun with it! Credits(for now) 200BX model and jbeam made by the BeamNG team.(duh..) New meshes made/edited by me. Special thanks to Dummiesman for his guidance and patience He helped me figuring out the multi DAE and showed me this easy way to upload this as a mod.
You moved the plastic trim on the rear bumper to the bottom .. and i would suggest you do the same with the side plastic trim aswell with the front plastics. Like giving it sideskirts with a black line on the bottom. Other than that looking good so far.
I tried some stuff: Removed the plastic trim: Painted the plastic trim: I am not sure...I liked the plastic trim version better...I think I am going to try and do something to the rear bumper.
For the headlight it would be cool if you could do it like this: With those deep headlight which looks awesome in my opinion! And also it would be cool to remove the grill and mke it like the pictures above... And a slightly curved form would be nice, so not like the original Covet which is horizontal... As for the engine in the sprinter I would say a 4A-GEU Silvertop 20v, to keep it realistic and stay classy!
For rims, i must say that Hirochi Race rims are really great ! Don't agree ? a pair of BBS can fix it up !
I like the deep rechtengular headlights I'll give it a go! Maybe the next bumper will be more rounded...If I try to change the angle on the curent one too much it'll look quite bad. I will test out which one looks better, rechtengular or round...if both look good I'll add both ^^ Yeah some real sideskirds would look better that the lazy vert moving I did on the curent ones Any Ideas? Can't go wrong with some BBS They'll probably fit on the DelSol as well. Thanks for the ideas guys!
Currenty messing around with the materials. I want to make the actual skins work with the color selector(not white only). I came pretty far but I get these ugly black pixels all over the texture :/ Is there any guide on the forum or does anyonw know a solution to this?
It is, lol It was very quicly done..just a mockup...I'll change that eventually. Edit: Nevermind fixed the color issue: Allright...for anyone interested and so I won't forget in the future this is how you do this: -You need the hatch_d and the hatch_c file and a programm where you can edit the RGB and the ALPHA channel. -hatch_c: -paste your skin(the stripes etc.) in the ALPHA channel and paint it black! -hatch_d -paint the skin on the RGB the same as in hatch_c -paste your skin(the stripes etc.) in the ALPHA channel and paint it grey. If you paint it white you'll get a matte result...if you paint it black you get pure chrome. That's it, the color selector works with the skin... changing the reflection via the color selector won't work though..so that's something still to improve on. - - - Updated - - - Riiiight...this could cause a problem -.- Any solutions without creating new UVs ?...probably not
If you have a load of time to spend you could make some decal panels by going to the body mesh and selecting and duplicating all of the faces around where the text is then making it a seperate object and uv mapping it so that the decal shows correctly. At least that's how gabe does it (like the marshal) But it is really unnecessary complicated.
Thanks for the info..it is doable...but that really is kind of annyoing :/ In other news, I did a quick edit on the fascia to see if the "no grille" look fits to the hatch...what do you think: Remember, this was just a quick mockup...the smoothing will be better in the final version
