I cannot describe with non-insultive words how bad of a decision that was. Just.. no.

Last time I was updating and it got stuck on that swirly thing for hours, my Windows was unbootable even into recovery mode.
    I had to reinstall Windows.
I lost all of my files.

This is the precise reason why i stayed with windows 7. windows ten sucks more than....... a... err.... vacuum cleaner, if you want to get rid on that malware y tray icon, there are many ways on the internet of removing it.

if i could and it was still supported i would probably go back to windows xp, it has no disruptions and it does as it is told with no problems

but that is not happening any time soon, i installed a virtual machine for windows xp and that decided to update itself. anyway by 2020 Microsoft will probably stop support for windows vista and a fey years on from there they will stop support for windows 7, i still have a good fey years of good old win 7 and i will probably get a new PC by then

I'm fairly sure that System Restore is disabled by default in Windows 10.

That would neither cause nor resolve the problem.

get a memory stick and another computer, put puppy linux on that memory stick using YUMI installer, boot to linux by booting off the usb drive and browse into your HDD, copy any files that are important on the boot drive and after that format that hard drive, reintall windows and copy the files back from the memory stick
