I don't really understand the whole technical stuff like jbeam and such. It's based on the ram plow's jbeam but heavily edited so it doesn't tend to bend the frame unless you hit a static object. The structure itself is pretty basic: I plan to put it on the Wentward and pickup but the 8x8/EU truck is something I didn't think of but will look into. I also wanto to see about making a version which is rotated to the side like you sometimes see but maybe not in a first release as there is still model and other work to be done to it before I can do that.
I have not tested this, so it might have bugs that make it fail totally, also hydro damper setup etc. needs to be crafted, but something I have though how to make the thing. It might be that bottom feet things need to have more width in X as narrow edge might get sticky, but when I get time I can try to make that part to work. Kinda easy to add coltris to bottom and have one wide contact patch. (yes, I do jbeam in Blender, also imported semi jbeam into blender for ... purposes ) Using https://www.beamng.com/threads/blender-addon.56981/ but to import jbeam, usually one needs to edit jbeam files a bit as importer is bit crude.
Planes are not gliders Also, nice Phil--king, keep up the great work, I'm really looking forward for that !
So basically I have this bug, and when ever any kind of force is applied to the trunk it moves: Stopped: 100mph: 100-0 braking: P.S. Fixed weird trunk text
Check in debug view if your nodes are moving, if they are, make jbeam more rigid, if not, check that your mesh and nodes are bind to correct groups. Also if your coltris have too high drag it can bend the structure, there is no cover from the wind in beam, so your vertical part of tailgate sees all airflow what front end sees, which can make lot more drag than intended if not aware. Also check that all your beams holding it in place really are there.
Yes. There was a link: https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...contributing-post.1575/page-1041#post-1006760
BeamNG - My Mods - 8x8 BigRig Offroader Progress #19 - Added old weak cab + parts (A lot weaker J-Beam) - Made old rusty skin - Added support beams for the grill - Added support beams for the front cab plate
So I was thinking about that AgentMooshroom5's snow plow jbeam challenge and ended up with something rather overkill I believe: That earlier version that I thought was not so great, not sure if this is any better, but looks like I'm going to have something like bit over 1000 beams in total, but at least in theory it should be less sticky and might have some similarities to one realworld design, but my lack of experience and knowledge of jbeam structures is causing me not to know if such rigidity elements would actually work or not. However as there are no single plane elements with nodes at end of 2D shape, it should not stick so much from the sides. Next I try to craft something to attach thing into, which would then have turning to side possibilities as well as lifting possibilities, maybe multiple attachment possibilities if I can figure out it well enough. I could of course go easy route and spy from MrCrash farming pack, but I'm too lazy for that and go difficult route, so inventing wheel from scratch. I'm going to need slide nodes, hydros and node couplers in this, so it is kinda complex and not sure when it will be done, but kinda what I have wanted to do long time, but never got around as amount of work is quite large. Also input side of things is quite annoying to make as I don't have experience of that. With jbeam, frustrating is that sometimes you spend hours making something and have to scrap whole design as it is not possible to make it work.
