    Ah, I would like to be informed how I'm not calm?

    I'm just saying, visiting sauna relaxes a person and gives good chance to think things trough.

    For example last time I did have dealings with a IRC, it was quite free to host such server, if there has been cost involved, then obviously it would be good to present proof of those cost directly to BeamNG.gmbh, not to do dirty laundry on this forum.

    So confusing, but honestly this path is not leading to good things, there are appropriate ways of managing such situations, public dirt throwing has never worked too well.

    Anyway, I rather enjoy my sauna instead of this useless drama which tends to occur each time update is close.



    Maybe you have never been in sauna, it is really relaxing experience, after spending some time in there, it usually gives new angles to any aspect you might have in your mind, really worth a visit.

    All I see is technically not being warned about the removal of something he’s been paying for. And an overreacting, this is only a question/brainstorm thread, it’s never 100% certain there would be a Discord, odd moderating or not.

    Ok guys, there has been a misunderstanding there and things got blown out of proportions involuntarily.

    @Tomatix , we do not dislike IRC, we have been using and enjoying it too in the past.
    And we are very grateful for your service in helping with it so far.


    The misunderstanding is in assuming we were going to say farewell to IRC anytime soon.
    No immediate/upcoming changes to IRC or similar was meant, maybe we failed to specify that.
    If there were, please rest assured we would have let you known, of course :)

    This thread is just to know if there's any interest in having an official Discord from part of the community:
    We have been seeing more and more threads asking if we had an official server in the past months, and honestly it feels that IRC has been stagnating in the past few years: not many people used it, not even ourselves as you pointed out.

    There's no concrete plan about an official Discord server or similar yet.
    We would have started looking into that only if it turns out there's some interest into that, which is why this thread is made.


    Quick recap:
    - No changes was planned for IRC in the short/medium-term future, and not without informing/alerting anyway.
    - No plan for Discord is up yet. This thread is here to gather opinions so we know whether we should look into that or not.


    Hope to have clarified the situation.

    alright, this WAS a thread intended to get the OPINION of people about the subject. In no form it was an 'information' that we are switching. Since the arguments are heated and it does not help the situation, this thread will be locked.

    @Tomatix Your service and dedication to the community is super valued and i am so grateful about your help regarding the IRC server over the years. Obviously, i would have consulted you personally before doing any changes. Thanks again!

    FYI, the BeamNG IRC server and his IRC servers were linked to share users and channels. We hosted IRC ourself.
