So this is my first post, I've a great interest in recreating correct sounds for trucks etc. was wondering if anyone would like me to share them here. I've posted a link to a sound I made of a 8V92 two-stroke pulling up a steep hill. It gives you an idea of what a hard worker she is . The sounds I make are with the new sound engine, so each vehicle can have a unique and different sound. Installation Instructions Copy Zip to BeamNG Mods folder, Then select the 8V92 engine in game from the drop down menu in the engine section of the T-Series.
Sounds very realistic! Very good mod. I don't want to download personally though, as I've got a personal thing against modding sounds. (Many sound mods are very low quality) Not this though.
Hi Steve and Gabe, thanks for the kind words Sorry that I didn't explain how to install it. You need to copy the content folder of the download into your BeamNG directory. Secondly you need to extract the Audio zip of the download, it contains a folder called art. Find the zip file of the same name in BeamNG (In content). Open it up and drag the downloaded art file into the audio.zip. It won't replace anything, but merely add the sounds needed. I hope this helps you. Don't forget to select the engine in the game. Ctrl W and under engine.
Apparently I posted this in the wrong section.. oops Am I able to move it myself or do I have to ask a mod to do it? (Correct section is apparently Mods and Skins)
You have to ask a mod to do it. I think Nadeox1 is the one who handles threads, try sending him a message.
This mod is actually great, more people should download it, just remember to put art folder in correct spot as instructed in this post https://www.beamng.com/threads/detroit-diesel-8v92-sound-mod-for-semi-truck.48675/#post-730264
If it sounds familiar you must have watched this dyno vid Sure, I'll send you the files if you'd like to incorporate a Cat C15 into your mod.
It is really nice to see @Semi_Sound_Doctor and @Capkirk working together as that certainly is giving huge improvement to T-series engine department, your work is well appreciated
Only because you posted offtopic, I posted ontopic about this sound mod stuff that has now evolved to co-operation between them.
I think it sounds familiar because I hear them going by my house at 2am all summer. And thanks, I probably won't use it for a C15, since that's a bit to new for the T-series (although I did put a 1990s volvo engine in it already). I'll probably use it for a 3406 inspired engine instead, since it's pretty similar and more period correct. But either way, I'm glad to help end the suffering of the stock TCX engine sound.
