I have an older computer that I want to run beamng on but it always locks up.
    SPECS:
    AMD Athlon II P320
    ATI Radeon HD 4250 (512MB)
    8GB DDR3
    Windows 7
    320GB HDD

This is on lowest quality. Any ideas welcome!
(This is batter than my Pentium 4 though):)

Your computer is well beneath the minimum specs for BeamNG, and your GPU also doesn't seem to support Dx11, so you shouldn't be able to run the BeamNG at all. If you use Dx10 compatibility mode on steam it might run, but I wouldn't expect it to.

i would suggest investing in a cheap i3/i5 dell Optiplex for like £50, and then a gt 1030. those specs of yours are quite old. even if you did get it to run, it will be really laggy due to the lack of cores and the age of the cpu

512 mb or vram is also nowhere near enough too

It runs ok on some levels like gridmap and cliff. Also I didn't get it on steam.

I suspect you got it off GoG, in which case you aren't running the most recent version of the game. You could try to update the game, but chances are that will keep it from running at all.

Good old Games. Where did you get BeamNG? Also, color me surprised, your computer does seem to support Dx11, if only just barely. But either way, your PC is absolutely not powerful enough to run BeamNG, and there's nothing you can do to really improve performance other than upgrade.

I got my BeamNG on a site similar to that one, IGG. I can run an older version. It is a Toshiba Satellite C655D that I upgraded. I know of a CPU upgrade but I can't find it anywhere: AMD Phenom II X940.

you really shouldn't use the forums if you use pirated games.

I am sorry. At the time that I got it I didn't realize it was pirated. I think I will buy a full version. What are the benefits of a full version anyway?

guaranteed virus free, steam assets get loaded into the game, you are actively supporting the devs' work, etc etc
