A dedicated fire truck would be such a low return on investment, which would be a bad idea with the game getting closer to having a career mode. It is possible we will see fire department vehicles other than ladder trucks, especially if we get a medium duty truck in game. While we are discussing it, are European fire stations normally that big? That station dwarfs even the biggest ones in my area.
I maintain that a low-cab-forward cabover truck like the 1957-1990 Ford C-series (Yes - that model lasted 33 years with only very subtle changes), would provide the development team much flexibility in career mode. They were used for everything from ladder trucks to urban delivery to garbage collection:
Fire engine with wentward powertrain? I can see that coming.. 4 speed auto, shouty v8 diesel.. (newer models with i6 diesel) like a dennis RS.. oh and i'm sure a two stroke would go lovely in it..
Remember when Tdev said that 1.0 would be this "year or next", back in early 2018? It's quite possible for a 1.0 release by the end of the year, if there are 2-3 more updates and BeamNG works much faster than late. All that would need to be done for 1.0, given minimal work remaining is, with confirmed content only: Gavril Bluebuck - supposedly a decent bit through development already, most likely the next vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised to see it released this summer. Soliad Wendover - Likely will share LeGran parts, but it will still take time. Updated car models for the remaining vehicles - Likely done soon, seeing how fast the recent remodels were. Updated maps - We haven't heard anything since November, it's been 6 months now, I doubt it will take much longer. (I cannot emphasize enough how much a developer needs to define what's in a "map upgrade" and which maps will need upgrades) Career mode - As always, we know absolutely nothing. What this will encompass is unknown. Updated UI - Supposedly a heavy WIP, not much news as of late, besides the recent UI changes which may be groundwork for the updated counterpart. AI Rework - Not much info since last year, however I would assume this is WIP. Traffic - Gamergull stated that he's focusing more on "Internal stuff" over the mod, so it's likely he's busy working on the official counterpart. Audio Improvements - A given of course. Various physics and optimization fixes - Again a given. Again, extremely unlikely that 1.0 will be ready by the end of the year, given BeamNG's terrible track record of giving us a release date and then ignoring it completely, however it is still possible (And development has been going on for 7 years now, can you believe it?). This is regarding confirmed features only, if I missed any let me know.
Tire thermals, but we haven't had word of that Achievement system rework I still think this game is way too short on content to consider "full release 1.0" anytime soon, but we'll see how it goes.
No not really, I remember it being something like wants to be, hopes to be, plans to be, not would be. 0.17, 0.18, 0.19 that would be this year, no way for 1.0 with 3 updates, even 7 updates I would doubt quite a bit, even career with 3 updates this year would be quite a lot, imo. So yeah, very likely it is going to take longer than whatever wishes he had at early 2018, but then again devs can surprise sometimes. New world editor is missing from your list, that has been under work for a while and while it might speed up map work, it might still take whole this year until it is released.
It is possible that they can release a career mode beta before the end of the year and call it beta 1.0. It's the only realistic and reasonable way I can think of. It would at least get the game to a "the important bits are here, albeit not finished" state, which would allow for a marketing push.
Yeah, but think about how huge amount of new gameplay mechanics there needs to be for something like such, merging that alone to game without creating a bug fest may be quite big task. I would skip one update at that point so there is more time to work with such big task, but probably they have much better ideas how to make it happen smooth. Considering how much is added and changed between updates, I find it bit unrealistic to have 1.0 by end of year, even career mode might be bit of a push by end of the year. I'm not all too sure career mode automatically would mean 1.0 either, AI and career mode for example, if those have something to do with each other, then there certainly is going to be more versions between career and 1.0 or then neither is this year, I would think.
This maybe one of those "it's been there since 0.xx" or "It was in the change log" things. (I'll delete this if so) But did the ETK K-series always have the licence plate lights? I looked on the other modern cars like the 800 and sunburst but they don't have any (again will delete if it was there and I didn't notice)
There seem to be and also they seem to have low and high beam, not sure what kind of trickery that is
4 doors for each cylinder. I’m guesstimating that the Bluebuck will be in the next update, or maybe the one after that. It seems close.
