I started a mod and now it's all I can think about. It's pretty much a 1939-1953 Fiat 1100, and I don't know if I should continue or stop now. It'll probably be on hold forever, like my previous mods. But the difference this time is that I really want it in game now. I'll post progress maybe? But don't get too enthusiastic people.

Usually those are modeled as one piece, just have edges for the doors properly placed, then part them from main body when ready.

Thanks! How do I know where the edges of the doors are though?

Blueprints or you check from reference photos where door edge is and place edges there, it probably is not very exact science, but more of visual art where you place them as whole model will always be bit different from real thing and art is just to make it look like real thing, better you are, closer to real thing you can make it to be, just don't worry too much of making it perfect as that kills motivation super fast.

Ah, ok. I have plenty of reference photos, I'll keep the windows empty for now.

the 1100 E also known as "millecento musone" was, structurally, quite wierd: it had a half-kinda-sorta-ish unibody (that could sustaine the engine and front suspention) but also had a (kinda-sorta-ish) frame. so it would be correct to have all the body in 1 part.

Yeah, I saw a photo of the Musone with its doors open, pillarless weirdness.

According to semi-official brand description by gabester, Autobello was founded in 1948.

Despite the author saying he's recreating a 1939 model, reference pic shows a 1100E, one of the two post-war versions of the Musone, launched in 1949. It could work as a short-lived first car by the then new italian marque (based on dated but reliable mechanics licenced by another well-established manufacturer, maybe?), quickly superseded by a much more modern unibody family car a few years later (the equivalent of the 1100/103, in the mid '50s), in turn followed by the '57 Piccolina as an entry level offering in the range.

TV ("Turismo Veloce", pretty much the equivalent of modern "GT" designations) was just a special, high-end variant of the 103 series.

I can make that a config eventually. Also, rear fenders are done. (There's still gonna be a lot to do after this, but the rough model fenders are done for now.) I also changed the title.

That would be a lot of work, but maybe eventually, if I even finish the model.

Also, I found this photo of a Simca 8 Fiat 1100 frame, and I'm not sure how to implement it.

I think it would work better as an Opel Kadett/Olympia/Ford Eifel-style Gavril of Germany. Or maybe a Lancia-like car (Aurea brand?)

Seems too old-looking for being the first post-war car of a new brand, and maybe too fancy to be the first Autobello.

New thread has it listed as an ETK, seemed to be the best idea.
