Hopefully FPS improvements, because it's almost as heavy as Italy.

Hm guys, please always keep in mind, if we are sharing media, we are likely only sharing the good bits and not the random nonsense that most of the time happens :D

obviously "late for an appointment" is referring to the barstow jumping the other cars, which seems to me like it has a different engine sound than the normal v8 (like the van passing). could just be me being dumb, but could we possibly be getting a new engine for the barstow? just brainstorming, i've spent ages looking at that short looping video and couldn't find anything that hasn't already been said (and diamondback has pretty much told us we aren't thinking big enough).

Guys it must be that we have AI simulation for different types of drivers. As we can see in the video, all the AI drivers run the stopsigns, confirming that there will be accurate California/Florida traffic simulation.

I would love an AI setting called "Florida man"

And if blinker usage by the AI cannot/will not be implemented, there should only be ETKs driving around to still keep it realistic...

That would include borderline road rage when not angry, no signaling, not staying within lanes, tailgating, random brake checking people who drive properly, slamming on the brakes for very slight turns, and not following low speed limits but going 15 under the limit for roads with high speed limits. This is totally a feature I want now.

Hmm, I wounder if that would that be upgrade from current Michigan driver simulation? I doubt they will do Tennessee version, it would require dummy on lawnmower which attempts doing hand signals for turning and stopping at intersections. While such would be possible to make, I doubt they have enough lawnmowers for all us dummies.

But try to remake that video, it might not be very easy to time everything right, driving and filming and timing, I think it is quite impressive fun video clip.

Oh, by the way, the church sounds have actually already been added to WCA. If you drive to the church there, which is just behind the point of view of the video, you should probably be able to hear them.

Are all updates going to take time from now or is it just this update because most take 2-3 months and this took about 5.

Hopefully the delay was solely due to the driver issues and does not become a trend in the future.

You know, I just had a brain wave. Don't half-ton crew-cab pickups usually have a shorter bed than the regular or extended cabs? Somewhere around 5.8 feet? The 3/4 and 1-tons, as far as I know, have crew cabs with "normal" beds, but the half-tons have super-short beds to make them a little easier to maneuver.

Just a thought, since we know other official vehicles are going through the rework grinder at some point.

I'd love to see the D Series frames get some love. They could be reorganized to allow for different sized beds without having too many frames, and allowing the normal cab on the longest frame would give enough space for a ramp truck.

Unfortunately not likely. Sharing frames between different combinations of cab/bed length rarely happens in real life because of the design compromises it requires. I was just saying that a half-ton crew-cab with a 6.5ft bed is unusual to see at all.

Personally I'm fine with anything that would just be a quirk of the manufacturer. A long bed is a fairly common request, I think it's a fair compromise for a videogame truck.

Autobello's factory engine's being high displacement for the weight of the car, the SBR being such a strange car as a whole, eSBR being essentially a factory electric conversion, etc... I think this D-Series frame compromise shouln't be out of the question.

The Autobello's high displacement comes from its dual inspiration. It looks like a Fiat 600 but could also be considered an Italian Beetle of sorts; according to Wikipedia the Fiat 600 had a water-cooled I4 rather than an air-cooled flat-4 which is pure Beetle.

I've also heard gameplay balancing as an explanation, but who knows.

On newer trucks, yes, crew cabs normally have a shorter bed. I could be wrong, but in the early 90s, I don’t think anyone made crew cabs with a shorter bed, so it would not be realistic for the D Series to have one. A better option would be a long bed since most trucks had them back then, but I know the devs have said they don’t plan on adding one.

The Autobello was given an abnormally large engine for game balance. The Piccolina is around the middle for size and weight of real counterparts but has engines comprable to the Beetle, which was the largest in the segment. (VW type 1 was 800kg with 1.1-1.6L, Fiat 600 was 600kg with .6-.8L, Piccolina is 700kg with 1.1-1.5L)

Gabe didn't want to add a long bed because the D-Series has so many frames as is. I haven't done the math, but I'm sure there is a way to get multiple bed sizes by adjusting the sizes of frames without increasing the number of frames if we allow for the compromise of multiple options per frame.
