you can actually, just 1 or 2 pages before this there are people doing so (with apu gpu's, but it's still integrated by definition) just not with intel clearly (or at least not ones as old as mine)

Intel HD series do not support OpenCL which is utilised for folding. The Radeon cores within the APU's do support OpenCL. Thats all it comes down to in the end.

I think Intel Iris has OpenCL

I just installed F@H on my old laptop ... specs so you get the scale here...its from 1999 --> Pentium 3 @ 650MHz, 512MB ram @ 100MHz, Graphics are S3 Savage IX, Win XP SP2 Its brand: MicronPC (out of business since 2004), model Transport GX+.

I was planning on having this run 24/7, but after starting the program I'm getting error messages...it does have access to the internet (through a PCMCIA Wireless N adapter), I can browse webpages, etc.....
    I get these error messages...
    Code:
    22:11:35:12:127.0.0.1:New Web connection
    22:12:21:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.67.108.200:8080
22:12:21:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '171.67.108.200:8080': Empty work server assignment
    22:12:21:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.64.65.121:80
22:12:21:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '171.64.65.121:80': Empty work server assignment
22:12:21:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: Could not get an assignment
    22:13:58:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.67.108.200:8080
22:13:58:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '171.67.108.200:8080': Empty work server assignment
If anybody has any insights on why this isn't working, that would be really helpful.

There are no wus that old. Once a project gets too old they phase out the work units for it, and there are none left that will run on that.

I think it originally came with Win. 95, updated to XP Pro...
It actually runs really well for being so crappy, in fact I'd use it more if the power cable didn't have shorts in it and the battery worked.
Finally replaced it around christmas with my desktop, which is a MASSIVE improvement, now i can do pretty much anything.

hmmm, that page says my gpu supports openCL 1.2, i wonder what could be causing it not to work for folding (as amd igpus work fine)

Its performance folding if it somehow worked is going to be more or less the same as a 5450, which is abysmal. No point.
