I have a suggestion, when you do the red and amber lights for the bus, you should program them to use the beacon/siren lights button. It'll be more convenient and much better than the controls on the Dansworth bus.

I was thinking of writing my own little system for that, activated by a control, that'd let you define light patterns in a jbeam file (so people could release mods to add patterns for example)

Finally something to fill the large void under the hood. The CAT C7!

One thing I've noticed when it comes to school bus engines is that they generally have a spaghetti-like appearance...

(Found via Bing because Google Images is freaking worthless these days...)

I6-Turbo engines do seem to be a common power source it seems, so the model will certainly fit the bill. Not entirely sure you want to "spaghettify" the engine; that's probably not worth the trouble.

Both the Caterpillar C7 and the MBE900 (will be done too) are power plants actually used in the FS65. I've looked at a bunch of these and there's not too much "spaghetti" going on.

See this channel if you want to see some examples. They've posted multiple FS-65's with CAT C7 installed

I think its also down to the lack of a radiator, all the tubing for that will add quite a bit more detail and textures will help a lot also. There is a lot of wiring around the firewall on these buses but as it is the engine is already like double the poly count of comparable official vehicle engines so I don't want to add too much more, although I guess some of that could be added to the body of the bus as the official cars do.

    irl comparison:

Good to know. I'll have to keep that in mind should I need it for future reference.

On an unrelated note, I found out that there's a few places on the East Coast (United States) that are debuting electric school buses. Didn't look too far into this, but there has at a minimal been trials carried out and I think a few districts might have even placed orders already!

    10/10 driving skill.
Also, looks great! I've grown bored of the s w o o p t a s t i c front of the Dansworth C-type bus and this same damn bus drives past my house every morning, so this hits close to home.

Dunno. It'd require some dash remodeling (shifter pedestal replaced with storage area on manuals), and they're not that common afaik

    also an update:
Reshaped some of the front to match the real bus more. (left = old, right = new)
still todo: scale on X axis by 95%, it['s ever so slightly too wide

Front bumper jbeamed. Cracked the hood fiberglass when I bent it too :p
(btw, hood wont bend too much, its fiberglass)

Also the body of the bus will detach in hard collisions. This is a safety feature that is on the bus IRL as well.
