Hello, I currently have a Dell Studio XPS 8100. I am looking to improve the performance of this old but decent computer. The two main things I am looking to upgrade are the graphics card and/or the ram. If you aren't familiar with these computers I will give you the basic specs. It has an I7 processor, 8GB of ram and an ATI Radeon 5700 graphics card. I am looking to upgrade it with this graphics card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F4GGWL1/ref=dp_prsubs_2?th=1 . Would only upgrading this cause a bottleneck? How much performance do you think I would pick up? If I should upgrade ram how much should I add(I can add at max 16 GB)? I am also looking to upgrade to Windows 10 if that has any effect on my product choice. If you have a better suggestion I would gladly consider it. I am working on a budget and wouldn't like to upgrade the power supply so keep that in mind. If you have any knowledge on these topics I would love to hear some feedback. Thanks!

Thanks, I will definitely consider that as a possibility! Since I only have 8GB of ram will that cause a bottleneck or will it be okay? How much of a difference will I notice with the one that you suggested?

Do not buy that n1 psu. Get something with an 80+ certification. EVGA has good deals on refurbished, perfectly safe power supplies every wednesday. https://www.evga.com/products/feature.aspx. But you said you weren't going to upgrade the power supply, so I'll lay that one to rest. However, on that same website, you can get a 1060 6gb for $140, which is a great deal. You have to look at b-stock. Go to the link I provided, then scroll down to the 160$ range. They sold out of the single-fan version but the dual fan cooler is still a really good deal. if you can find an rx 590 for that price, jump on it. But I don't think you will.
Do you recommend upgrading the power supply since my computer only has a 350 watt and the1060 recommends a 400 watt? Edit: I don't especially like the idea of a B-Stock product. My bad. Also, don't buy a 3gb 1060. They should never have existed. An rx 590 would easily beat that out.
From what I have read I now see that I probably will have to upgrade the power supply. How can I tell if the power supply will be compatible with the other hardware so I can swap it out. Edit: You guys have suggested some great looking graphics cards but how can I tell if they will actually work with my PC? I would love it if the one I decide to get can just plug straight in since this will be the first time I have worked on this specific computer. Also, I would like this PC to be an all-around decent performer so I don't need crazy graphics just decent enough to be able to run higher settings. My overall goal is to have a decent graphics card, 10GB of ram, an upgraded power supply if needed, and the ability to run Windows 10 well.
all pcie graphics cards should work on all computers and psus should too unless the motherboard uses propietary connectors your motherboard supports 16GB of ram but i dont think its worth it to upgrade since its really old and the best cpu you can get is an i7-870

Economically? GPU only. Ram these days is ddr4, your rig isn't, so to upgrade to newer ram you need a complete motherboard upgrade too, which in turn means CPU upgrade. Cpu has same issue that to upgrade it you're going to need a new motherboard and ram to go with it. CPU, ram, GPU, those are the only things that impact game performance, and you can only upgrade one of those right now
