this might sound like a very dumb question but, my cousin wants beamng since he plays it on my PC, i could download it on my dad`s acer laptop but the problem is that its only: 4gb of ram.
Acer means most likely a cheap laptop with a basic CPU and an integrated GPU. I would not expect BeamNG to look any better than a slideshow on that. That laptop would also likely overheat trying to run it. Not recommended.
Having run BeamNG with a dual-core 3rd Gen i5 mobile chip with an HD 4000 iGPU, I can say from experience that it'll do it, and do it more than satisfactory. Just keep the settings down and the maps small and simple. Having run BeamNG on my personal Acer Nitro; No, it won't explode. Acer doesn't make crappy netbooks anymore, they make decent computers. BeamNG isn't a complete unoptimized mess like it was a couple of years ago... now it's only a mild unoptimized circus. Completely different in that a potato has the chance of running it. Think of it this way: It has a greater chance of running BeamNG than it does running GTA IV, which is a 10 year old game.
I used to use a MacBook Pro with a 7700hq and a radeon pro 555 and it struggled to get 30 fps on low settings and was hitting thermals of 99c. I don't recommend it
Low Specs I have run this game on... 2010 MacBook Unibody (NOT THE PRO): 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4GB of Ram. Nvidia 256mb integrated graphics. 250GB 5400RPM HDD. It ran grid map and one vehicle at 15-20ish FPS. 2013 MacBook Pro Retina: 2.8GHz Intel Core i7. 16GB of Ram. 1536mb Intel Iris graphics (integrated). 512GB SSD. It ran grid map and one vehicle at 30ish FPS, lowest settings.
