Since the post in development screens got 90 likes, here's a thread for it.

The Fiesta is Ford Europe's FWD supermini that was introduced in 1976. It was available in a 3-door hatchback and panel van body styles. The Fiesta is very light, the base model is only 715 kg (lighter than the Autobello!). It was also a very popular car since over 2 million of them were produced. Sadly not many of them have survived to this day. I have seen only one Fiesta in real life.

1980 Fiesta Supersport 1.3. In 1980 66 hp wasn't just sport, it was SUPER sport.

This mod should be really close to the real one because I have a 1981 Fiesta GX 1.1 myself. I took lots of measurements and about 400 pictures to make the model and textures as accurate as possible.

(The front wheels are 13 inch and not standard)
The model and the textures are all scratch made by me. I made the model in Blender and I didn't use any blueprints or drawings. Instead, I took pictures (side, front, back) from my Fiesta with a telephoto lens and used them as blueprints. I took them really far away with huge zoom to make them suitable.

The model, texture and jbeam qualities are better than in any other mod of mine. The FS30-2, jbeam, for example, was pretty bad and the polyflow was worse than in a stolen GTA model subdivided 5 times and decimated down to 120 polygons to make it run better in game.

I decided to photoscan the engine bay, wheels and the interior to make them super accurate. I took a picture from every possible angle and used a program called Meshroom to make a 3D model.

For example, it made this textured engine bay model in a few hours. It's too high poly to be used in the game but a really good reference for making the actual model. It was really easy to make the model this way.

Here's the wheel in real life, photoscanned and the actual model textured in game. It looks very accurate and almost the same (no rust or super faded tire texture in game).

I didn't photoscan the whole Fiesta because the technique doesn't work well with shiny surfaces.

The interior with red Supersport seats. The buttons on the dash should be darker but I realized that they're just really faded in my Fiesta after I did the textures. I'll change that sometimes. Also I noticed too late that only my Fiesta has some sort of leather bag over the shifter rubber boot. I'll need to redo that one. The center console in my Fiesta looks like it's some kind of home built plywood contraption that I haven't seen in any other Fiesta. The center console in the BeamNG Fiesta is the normal one.

The parcel shelf lifts with the tailgate.

It has a MacPherson front suspension and a rear beam axle. The textures here are really unfinished, it won't look this ugly when it's released.

The engine bay is mostly finished. The windshield/headlight wash tank and the radiator expansion tank need to be redone. The strut bar is not included in any factory models but it is really helpful. It stiffens the loose cardboard body a lot.

I made a 100% scratch made jbeam (okay I took some spring and deform values from official cars but I've changed almost all of them) so it deforms pretty well and feels like a real Fiesta. It also weighs 715 kg like the real car and the weight distribution is about right. It was quite difficult to make it so light without jbeam explosions and instability. The model spikes only very little in hard crashes.
Some crashes to prove that it's not a mesh slap if you don't still believe ;)

Some model information, I'll add more later.

This is the base or "Popular" model, the cheapest and slowest. It has a tiny 957cc engine that produces only 40 or 45 horsepower.

The XR2 is the most sporty model. It was introduced in 1981 and it has a new 1.6 liter 83 hp engine.
It also has different headlights and better suspension.

    Engine options

This 957cc engine has a low compression ratio and produces only 40 horsepower and 64 Nm of torque. It is really underpowered and can get the Fiesta go only 130 km/h. It is not a good engine for tuning because even a turbo can't increase horsepower very much.

This 957cc engine has a high compression ratio and produces 45 horsepower and 65 Nm of torque. It is better than the low compression 957cc but it's still underpowered. It is not a good engine for tuning but atleast it's better than the other 957cc.

The 1.1L engine has 52 hp (1976-1981) or 54 hp (1981-1983) and 81 Nm of torque. My Fiesta has this engine. It is not very good for tuning but a lot better than the 1.0 liters.

The 1.3L engine has 66 hp and 94 Nm of torque. It can make the Fiesta go fast and it's a fairly good engine for tuning.

The 1.6L engine is the biggest of them all and makes 83 hp and 122 Nm of torque. Only the XR2 and the US models have this engine. It is a good tuning engine, a turbo increases horsepower a lot.

Why did I make this underpowered wrong-wheel drive shopping bag?
My friend had suggested it but I would never had done this if I didn't have the car myself.

This Fiesta project was also my final year project in (Finnish) junior high school. The goal was to make the Fiesta drivable and finish the most necessary parts. I made a work report about the project where I also explained BeamNG.drive, modeling, UV unwrapping, textures and JBeam. Only a few people had patience to read the whole 17-page report but the teachers who read it said the whole project was incredible. I'm not sure how much they understood, though :p.

This is one of the videos I made to introduce the Fiesta: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AgpVExY5iv08shAlLMZRAV-t0VfSaxfa.

Other students liked my project a lot and voted for it, so I got in the top 10 most voted. I had to present my Fiesta project in front of the whole school because that was the idea of the voting system. Now a few more people know what is BeamNG.drive ;).

Please don't ask for release dates, the Fiesta will be released when it's done. No one knows when it's done, not even my Fiesta.

BeamNG needs more scratch-made vehicle mods, and this one is very promising. Can't wait to drive this thing when it's eventually released!

Also, when it gets photoscanned, it looks like a 3d model for some 4k game.

How is it salty? The author of the fiesta used to do "meshslaps" but now look at his mods.

Fantastic, can't wait to experience all 45hp of the HC 957cc variant :)

It's nice to see a new car on these forums that isn't a low effort "slap" of some third party mesh onto very lightly modified jbeam, a breath of fresh air from all the forum "kid" trite which floods the community screenshot pages.

lol you still make them, it's not like you and me are somehow immune from that either.
