I mean, it's been 2 months since the last update... they used to release updates with that amount of time between them rather frequently. EDIT: But as I stated before, it's possible, just not likely.
That's a lot of speculation. The revamped East Coast could become my favourite map improvement so far. The Bluebuck seems finished, from the video we've all seen, so that could be part of the next update that could not be that close (contrary to what Cory said) since they probably will release both the map updates (or at least what is ready) and the vehicle together. But it will only happen Soon™.
Again, this is what I see coming in regards to major content: Very Likely: Map Upgrades for Small Island, Port, Industrial Site, Derby Arenas, ECA, and Hirochi Raceway Possible: Map Upgrades for future maps - Not sure how far the upgrades will go. Gavril Bluebuck - Sure it's in game, but all the Autobello teasers were too, and we know how long it took for it to release. Traffic - There was a teaser, but that's it.
Finally we're getting new water for fast moving areas. Seeing those modded maps with waterfalls that just used the same ocean/lake water texture did not fit at all.
Yeah, that's gonna run like shit. Hope you're ready to plunk down $10,000 for a brand-new RTX 4080 Ti two-way SLI setup just to run that on low settings. I mean, all those particles? Come on...
ECA's performance should be interesting. It may be detailed and dense, but it is smaller than Italy and bypasses the optimization issues WCA has. Not sure how it will play out in the long run.
We don’t know really when the map updates were started- if they’re nearly done, why wait to release them? They could be ready on Thursday or slightly later- We don’t know.
Updates on ECA look beautiful. I'm afraid that I won't be able to run the program though after the next update, being I'm on a 2011 Toshiba laptop. Is there any way I can put automatic updates on hold until I can afford a gaming PC? Apologies for off-topic.
Worse comes to worse you can always switch back to 0.14 via Steam. Sure, you'll lose Italy too, but if you're having serious FPS issues Italy probably won't work for you anyway. Yes, you can also put automatic updates on hold. https://appuals.com/how-to-disable-steam-auto-updates/
I'd love to see them this week as much as the next guy, I just highly doubt we will get an update this week. We have never gotten an update in early July IIRC.
The Bluebuck looks about done and has been in development at least since January. Given that it doesn't get much more American than an early 60's, V8-powered large sedan, I would not be surprised (but also do not expect) if we saw it released sometime around the 4th of July, maybe with an American flag skin to go with the rocket bus. The map updates will probably be released much later on. Keep in mind, this is BeamNG.drive, not BeamNG.lookAtThePrettyMaps. The two most important things are the official vehicles and the physics engine.
If you look at the ramps, there is a Bluebuck body rolling behind them. --- Post updated --- If the ECA updates aren't coming soon, why are they being teased this aggressively? 3 teasers in the past week.
Meh. "Soon" in dev-speak could mean anywhere from this week to 6 months from now. At best, I would venture early September to coincide with Labor Day (Sep 2). Then again, they do like to release updates where they can put in goofy "themed" mods (Halloween, Christmas, etc). I wouldn't hold your breath, though. You'll likely end up a shade of blue and passed out on the floor.
There are already in game pictures from last year of updated versions of Small Island, Port, Industrial Site, and Derby Arenas. ECA appears somewhat complete. Hirochi Raceway was released alongside ECA, and it likely will share assets with the updated ECA, as both are set in Maine, so it may be somewhat complete. It is unknown how new the map updates will go to. Hirochi Raceway might be the final map to be updated, or it could be JRI, which is mostly abandoned industrial, and could re-use assets from the first 4 maps if needed (but hopefully not).
