Hello first of all I want to say i've been on this forum for about 3 months but I haven't registered until now.

The game looks awesome and the progress being made in remarkable.

I would like to ask a few questions and im not sure if any of these have been asked but I searched and couldn't find anything.

    1.Engine mods/maybe engine swaps...
-Will there be a possiblity to put engine mods to get more power and torque and such like air filters, exhaust systems, inter-coolers, turbos and superchargers, and such
-Will there ever be a possibility to do engine swaps such as putting lets say a REW-13b rotary engine in little Ford Escort and get massive power ahaha or maybe putting a little i4 in a pickup and getting better ((gas mileage)) *hint hint*

2.Will there be aside from performance mods maybe some cosmetic mods...
    -like body kits and paint
    -Rims and Tires

3.Will we be able to tune your car to the specs you want it to...
-Such as camber and toe and suspension dampening and ride height.
    -Tire pressure and tire size
-Engine and fuel specs like mas RPM and idle RPM, Fuel Air ratio, gearbox gear ratios
-Transmissions some people prefer auto some people like manual can we choose to have different and then also how many gears

This is a big big thing to accomplish, but to have what you guys have now and then add in all of this it could be the best car sim of mankind. It also gets boring just to drive around the same cars and trucks and such all the time, so it would be cool to mod them especially for the career mode, maybe you have a slow car and you want to go fast but don't have the money to buy a new car maybe buy an engine and swap it or some engine mods. The engine model doesn't have to be replaced right way just make the engine swaps and parts change the settings of the cars and then later start making the models and stuff. These are my idea since i love cars and modding my cars without changing configs and cheating. Any feedback will be appreciated. Please don't comment ridiculous things on this thread like I see some of you say.

    Thanks

From what I can gather from other posts, most of that stuff will be available.

Don't take my word for any of this, I'm just guessing, but I shouldn't be too far off :p

    1. Yes (Not yet in game)
    2. Yes (Already in game, but not 100% about paint)
    3. Don't know, it's not possible at the moment. The suspension is also made from the Beam and Node system, there could be a possibility of having different parts/settings in each car or just changing beam lengths to change the camber; there is no official thing about it so far.
Tire pressure: I'm not sure, I think it's already done or possible.
Tire size: there is changeable wheels, so tires probably too
Engines: there will be different engines so you could probably make your own, or if that's "hacky" and not "game" enough, gabester said there probably won't be single engine parts
Gear ratios: there will be changeable gearboxes, maybe a custom ratio one too, but I don't know.
Transmission modes: I'm 99% there will be auto and manual, this is a sim and all but it's also a game.

If the engine tuning, custom gearboxes and adjustable suspensions won't be there, I will make them myself :D

    Thanks guys
This game is looking to be one of my favorite games of all time if everything goes right.
I and probably a lot of people would love not just having a crashing sim and driving sim but having a fully customizable to your liking car driving sim.
I think everything I mentions should be in the game and im sure a lot of people would like those features to.
Also if some of these things arn't in the game I hope we can get a huge modding community going to make what people want.
Im not a modder myself but I love downloading mods and such. I would love to get into making mods but I have no idea where I would start.

Where to start depends on what you want to do.

If you want to make cars, go into Rigs of Rods and play around with the beams and nodes. Also (or if you don't want to do the N/Bs), search for a tutorial on blender and get modelling.
As for map making, you will need the Torque3D editor, which im not sure about.
If you want to make gamemodes, and generally make things do stuff, learn Lua.

Gabester said he wants it somewhat like SLRR (Street Legal Redline Racing) which is a really good game :)

Thanks man I ll look into all of those.

Street Legal Racing Redline is one of my favorite games of all times. If the game is going to be just like that I would buy it in a heartbeat hell even for 200 bucks hahah.

I want this game so bad I can't even take it anymore. If it's going to be a new SLRR omfggggg ahahah. Ive been following these forums and the videos for about 3 months I can't even imagine how much the people that have been here from the start want the game haha. All I got to say is that they are doing an incredible job and giving us a lot of stuff to look forward to. Great job Devs and keep it up :D.

Trust me, you have to almost develop a zen state of disinterest. Inside we're all excited, like a college student who's acquired his first joint or something equally adorable. Precisely 1 year since that first video. It has been a long time, hasn't it?

I just know that it will be unspeakably and completely awesome when it comes out, even if just a tech demo...

I remember reading a post from one of the developers who said that they weren't planning on going into that level of customization (individual engine parts), but I am sure that whatever they come up with will be satisfactory.

Well im sure the modding community for this game is going to be huge. Look at SLRRs community the game is almost extinct yet people make mods for it all the time. I know that if i get into modding for this game ill be making engine parts and such all the time and make the game as customizable as possible.

    - - - Updated - - -

I myself Love the SLRR game and all hte mods and different versions it has. I love the customizability and how you can totally mod every single part on your car. I really hope that the final product of the game will be extremely similar to SLRR but for now I hope the Devs concentrate on getting the base game completely polished and ready for a demo or beta of some sort.

It's like the game is dead, well it should be, but people won't let it die.

Game is from 2003, and still gets new mods nearly every day. It's so outdated I couldn't play it no longer, because it hurt too much seeing that nobody wanted to remake it. But I'm sure BeamNG will fill in that gap :D

Hahaha I know right but the community for it is so so dedicated its not even funny haha. They do output some really really high quality mods though. I still play that game occasionally because there is literally no other game like it its just soooo uhhh can't even explain its just a good friggen game haha. The physics might be shit an the handling and such but to be able to buy and build your cars from the ground up is all what keeps me coming back into the game. I mean what other games can you go buy a used car strip the insides out and the engine buy numerous other engine parts and completely rebuild and engine and put it back into your car and then on top of it have so many mods to use. There is so many mods that I have 5 game folders each with different mods in. Not to brag about SLRR but this game (NEEDS TO BE LIKE SLRR) in my opinion. I don't know about the ages on this fourm. It seems to me that a lot of the community just wants to smash cars witch is fun but what will keep you coming back (nothing). Plus what about older gamers that like to play sims for there realism and to drive cars and race and have fun not smash cars. What Im saying is that If you have the same customization as SLRR then this game will stay alive for a long long long time (im thinking 7-10 years). Think of it this way...Career mode...driving around crash your car whoops...go to your garage...needs a new grill, front bumper, left headlight assembly, some frame re-bending, and a new radiator and fan...Cool lets buy those parts and take off the old and put the new on. That would be an epic thing to add not just a repair your car button but have a whole dynamic thing where you can put parts you want on. Going out rock crawling put your shitty smashed bumper on and go for it...later take it off and put on your nice bumper and go for a nice peaceful drive.

Sorry for the rant and idea I go on and on hahah.

If you read this all thanks for taking your time to read.

I know this would be a lot of work to get all the parts system to work and all and not to mention a lot of time but hey ill donate 50 bucks for you guys to hire some modders to get to work on that if you want :D.

This is a huge huge thing to do but it will pay off for a long long time and gain profits like a mofo. Think of all the youtubers that play indie games now adays. People would see a build your car/smash your car game and instantly buy :D.

Not to mention this adds in shit to do after it gets boring smashing your car and driving. Build it, make a project car, do engine swaps, etc etc.

About the career mode, I just hope it will be a challenge, because in most games you just race and smash the other cars to get into 1st place and that gets bored after about 10 races, you can't win all the time, but you have to win too. It's hard to balance it, but yeah..

Also, in SLRR it's fun all along because you will end up with a smashed car and you don't start getting $50k after 2 races and you have to almost always repair your car from the wear and tear on the tires and/or engine.
And it's fun when starting out, you have to repair the car and I like taking the interior out to reduce weight ^^ , but there is only seats and wheels, no dashboard of carpets and such *hint hint*

Yeah, modding keeps games alive, RoR is still good, but it's getting a little old like SLRR. I think the reason why RoR isn't that popular is because you can make terrains and cars and planes, but you can't modify the game itself, and that should change with BeamNG :D

I love the sound of that. But free roam with free cars/parts is needed to. Sometimes i just want to kill a sports car over and over. Or unless theirs a ingame money cheat.

I just hope I can learn to mod and get time to learn to mod because I want to be able to (if the game isnt to my liking) make new vehicals and engines and parts and such.

I also believe that you can win every race and its run to actually race not by hitting and smashing your way to first like most racing games.

It would be cool if you get money by driving around and maybe delivering cargo and driving fast. maybe some sort of racing.

And then after all the things you do use your cash not only for new cars but for parts and engine modifications, engine swaps, and othercar modifications like rollbars, body kits, bumpers, wings, rims and tires, ect.

    Let me know your ideas.

I hope there is NEVER a career mode, that will stink, and I will be mad that something so good turned out so bad. I hope it is a simulator with no set purpose, like Rigs of Rods.

Totally agree. Maybe some gamemodes like racing, crash derby and such but just for fun.
