I will probably use both forms (ex. 18.420 4x4 ...) so that you know both drivetrain layout and engine power from the name. Sure, that is possible. I made a cargo box config and suddenly everyone is requesting a trailer. Yes, it is planned. I'm just not sure what axle layout should it have. I thought that I will make this kind of trailer chassis and it will have more upfits avaiable such as tanker or log bed.
With the trailer, I think you should go the route that @AR162B took with his trailer set, like having one frame but changeable axles and upfits. ex, a trailer with a dolly and 2 axles and in a other config, a rigid trailer with 2 centered axles.
I think it is a little too soon for that but yer never know what MRcrash is upto lol Aight, I is upto sumthin.......
I wonder if @Jalkku is still around..... If so, maybe you can get permission from him to use his 8x8's box trailer and use its j-beam, though its your call.
You could either go with a swap body (or bdf) that is trailer chassis that then attaches any upfit on the trailer like this: Or make the truck and trailer normal rigids, but please note that the drawbar trailer and the dolly have different hook heights for both trailer and truck (source: use eng subtitles). I agree that the dolly is more generic and has more upfit options than a drawbar that is more concerned with the volume rather than weight capacity. The dolly also allows you to make the relatively popular scandinavian combination (seen here with a rigid:https://images.app.goo.gl/RSavKQQm5tRGoYCS9 and here with as finnish hct: https://images.app.goo.gl/CGJErLcuASnCeUVh9) Edit: after some more looking into it, there are drawbars with 800mm drawbars but I still maintain that a dolly type is a better choice
I think the dolly type is more suitable here. Not that it is not possible to do, but I'm not going into the swap body upfits, or at least not in the near future. You will be able to change the upfits through parts configuration just like on T-series.
This Mod is gonna be gigantic. Its gonna have so many types. From Dolly's, to Krone Trailers to even Road Train set ups. I can't believe this. My hype just keeps getting bigger and bigger,
i think we can use the vanilla trailers to make a road train of some sorts because australia already uses american trailers, though i think everyone will welcome a new set of shiny new trailers. --- Post updated --- For now, it looks like this; though I dunno if he will update them. Low beam; High Beam w/ fog lights: High Beam W/ fogs and extra cab lights:
The thing about Australian Road Trains is that they always have Tri-Axles. Whether its Reefers, Tippers, Tankers or Flatbeds. Western Star 4900EX hauling Three Reefers Volvo FH16 hauling Tri-Axle Low Beds (Tri-Axle Flatbed in the middle). Another Western Star 4900 hauling three Tri-Axled Tankers PS And building a road train in game is gonna be a pain in the ass since I've tried it before and it took so long and sometimes became very annoying due to the knuckles being two, one for the Dolly and the other one is the Dolly's pin.(And the pin, you have to lift with the cursor to the trailers knuckles to even lock)
Maybe you can have it the old way, like without attaching anything, having them as a big whole vehicle.
If it could be that easy why the Hell not and we could just edit the chain/trailer types in the Config section or something. But Road Trains without Multiplayer and solo'ing it is super hard. The first part of getting the trailers lined up is already a pain.
