Neat cars. I'm really digging the FJ55 LC. They're ugly but still pretty cool and you don't see many around. My nextdoor neighbor actually has one but he's kind of a wack job so I've never dared to go over there and look at it.

Also, going back to the conversation earlier surrounding your dash cam vid of somebody cutting you off. Somebody mentioned driving a large or bright colored vehicle, it doesn't help. People somehow don't notice me in a big blue dump truck, even with the jake going trying to slow down so I don't run over their stupid butts.

Also also, I think I've mentioned this before but what the hell is wrong with drivers from Alberta. Every single one has to drive at least 10 mph over the speed limit and a few think that turn lanes are passing lanes, 10ft is an appropriate following distance and merge signs mean speed up and cut someone off. If anyone on the forums is from Alberta you're probably an exception so don't take it personally.

Also also also, Would it be stupid of me to get rid of my current truck and buy this one. It's nearly the same truck just 10 years newer and about half the milage, but it's also harder to work on and I'd be pretty much broke even with selling my current truck.

I'm from Alberta funnily enough. I don't live there anymore but yes, everyone knows they're terrible.

I feel like some Ontarian drivers are worse, recklessly speeding and passing on soft shoulders, giving truck driver a real scare. Not to mention the folks who cut across three lanes without indicators, almost always a Mustang or Camaro driver. I remember when a Mustang almost rear ended a Sentra they were travelling at least 15 over the speed limit and just dove jnto the next lane. Scared the living daylight out of the woman who was driving the Sentra.

Im quite liking hypermiling at the moment, I got 51mpg round town in my 2007 Jazz, quite impressive, I change up gears around 1400-1600rpm holding longer uphill etc etc..

What I love about this small of an engine is that I can just have it loaded nicely even round town nice low rpm so I can sit in the best part of the BSFC map..

My mum who drives it doesn't drive it nearly as eco,so the trip meter always drops down and its my mission to hold it back up :p

Also still really annoyed with my blackbox.. Would you say I should ring up if I do like racing on private land? I'd like to but with blackbox active I just can't.. (buses literally accelerate harder and brake harder than I am allowed to) insurance company prob will say no to be fair..

Can't wait till 24th July when my policy ends and I can just go with a different insurer / policy

I have paid yearly, do you think its a wise idea to cancel my policy once I have passed my driving test? ... Will see if I can get a refund or whatever

Boy, you'd hate to see how I drive.

Again. Why I hate this entire concept.

I got to drive an E70 X5. God, the N55 is a good motor. They make a great noise, pull hard to redline, have very little lag, and are made of silk practically. On early ones you can also hear the turbo spool and BOV, which is silly.

The E70 is a criminally underrated car. Especially the late ones. They’re razor sharp to drive, comfy, and aren’t overladen with tech. A true BMW for sure.

Sadly in UK, they'd not look favourably upon your own driving in that clip, entering roundabout too fast without adequate time to give way to the right yourself

Cue a 3,500km round trip in a 35 year old Subaru. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it

In fairness to my right is a open field so you can see for several hundred metres up the road to the right, and its not like she didn't have adequate time to see me.

Also in my state the law is "Give way to vehicles already in the roundabout" not to the right

Fresh spicy maymays. I almost ran out of material making this, but I'm sure I'll get some more in response to this post!

Done with the first leg. My car is getting a very surprising 40mpg despite sitting at 3000rpm up steep mountain passes all day. I've only done city driving with it, where it gets in the low 30's. It's also running like a champ, even if it's a little terrifying at times.

impressive, but it also depends what gear you are in..

to be honest even going 65-70mph climbing hills in my 1.4 honda jazz the mpg can drop from 40 to around 25-30 when its under load.. (this is using my obd adapter, not sure of how accurate it is, i did brim to brim my car said 50mpg actual mpg was around 44 and my obd adapter when my car says 50mpg says around 42 ish)... It's quite sad in a way, my friends talk already about wanting to go to germany to go 100mph on the autobahn, I think 70 is too fast, 60 is perfectly adequate... for our class of car
