BeamNG is just a physics engine the devs say. But why are they building vehicles, wouldn't they only need 1 to get the point across?

The point of this isn't just to demo the engine, they are putting it to good use by developing a game/sandbox that isn't just for the fun of those using it, but to carry a message to potential interested parties that might wish to implement the engine into their own games.

They are developing vehicles because they are releasing a playable sandbox/game.
What good is a sandbox/game without anything to interact with? lol..

Its not a game, it's an engine.

I think your missing the point.
As mentioned before.. What point is an engine if they aren't going to use it for anything.

They are going to be using it and they are integrating it into CryEngine for their own sandbox/game.
That's as simple as it gets.

That's the point I'm trying to get across, they are putting it to use.

Youre not exactly answering my question because you keep saying "a sandbox/game" when they say it's not a game.
    Thanks for trying.

They are making a game out of their own engine, the beamNG physics engine is an engine but they are making a game kinda as a tech demo

    You asked...

    I said..

    What BeamNG is:
What is BeamNG doing right now?

Back to what I was saying, they are actively involving the community with their development efforts (well.. not 100% actively but still keeping us updated).

They ARE developing a game for us, be it a demo or sandbox. They have said they will eventually accept donations when they can give us something in return, they have said that they aren't sure how much we will have to pay for it outright yet (when it's for sale).

It may not be a game per-se, but what else would you call it? Maybe a tech demo.
It's going to be similar to ROR and I would call that a game.
Honestly I can't think of any better way to describe this.
That should have answered your question on why they are developing more vehicles.

    Unless your trolling..?

BeamNG is a physics engine, period.

Once they finish developing the engine, they will then use it (it being the physics engine, called BeamNG) to create something playable for the community.

Yes, we are making a game. The game is not BeamNG. It's made by BeamNG and it's using the BeamNG physics engine.

They're developing a physics engine called BeamNG. They will be using beamNG as the physics engine in their game. Both things are being developed at the same time.
