No, it doesn't. We're still just speculating about updates, there's also no need to mention a dev.

The saftey inspection crew will stop you. =P

Official demo derbies usually are in one of a number of classes which limits things like the engine and car weight, along with mandating certain saftey rules. I'm no expert, but there's a healthy number of IRL derby drivers on the forums who would know about the possibility of a Wendover derby car better than I do.

If the Wendover got a sedan version, it could make sense as a police car. Being a fullsize it has plenty of room in the trunk and rear seats, and the supercharged 3.8 gets pretty good power for the mid 80's at a reasonable price. It wouldn't be too out of place in a small town PD, or as an undercover police car. As a coupe though, it's police uses are pretty limited. Since it's unibody, I wouldn't imagine it to be too good for derbys either.

I think the Wendover is both going to get a Coupe and Sedan versions. Although it is possible it could just be as a Coupe in the form of those "Executive Luxury Coupes" of the 1980s.
Maybe we could get to see two cars in the same platform. One an executive luxury coupe, and the other a luxary full size sedan.

I’d love to smash up something like a Cimmaron. Hope it’s taken in that direction.

Hopefully they fixed this in the next update. It is because I don't have a good enough GPU but maybe... I'd hate not being able to enjoy the Bluebuck because of it.

The Cimarron is too small for that. The Wendover is probably going to be based on the GM W-Body platform shared by the Chevy Lumina, Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (later Intrigue), Buick Regal and Buick Century. (Dont quote me on this as this is something someone said here)

The Wendover would be a good car for Lemons style racing if it is anything like the LeGran but with IRS. I really would like to see a full on digital dashboard with a touchscreen like the 88' and 89' Buick Reatta. My favorite car in game right now is the LeGran because it is able to keep up with SBR4s if you tune the car right, so I am super excited for the Wendover.

How do you tune a LeGran to keep up with an SBR4? Asking for a friend.
I do agree that a digital dashboard is a must, alongside the Wedge-Like design.

I dont really know, its just under what beamng requires. Beam still runs fine, and that problem showed up when 0.16 came out.

It has been reported that some iGPUs have skin artifacting at lowest graphics settings.

I will admit that it can't beat the race spec models of the SBR, but it can keep up with the factory cars in the corners. It takes a lot of suspension tuning, the race tires from the Bolide, and knowing the car to drive it well.

IMO slicks = cheating. I just kept thinking "yeah, no way a deadaxle FWD can keep up with an SBR4 in the corners" and then I saw the slicks and I'm just like... yeah... that explains a whole lot.

How is it cheating? It has less than 250 horsepower and a full interior. If there were high end sports tires (ex: Sport Cup 2) I would rather use them but there are none in BeamNG.drive

Hi, person who is around actual derby cars semi regularly:

If it's gonna be even slightly comparable in size to the LeGran, to say it's not gonna be derby ready is crazy.

In a game where weather isn't simulated and you can drive around town in a full-on lightless/hornless race car if you want, it's not so much, but at the same time... any car can hang on to the road like grim death if you put slicks on it - at the price of no longer really being a road car. But then, I tend to be pretty particular about these kinds of things.

Yeah, I agree. Thats the reason why I use the Bolide racing tires, as they are only 205mm wide, which makes it similar to a 245mm or 255mm road tire IMO.

EDIT: I just did Hirochi Short with both the SBR4 TT S2 (manual) and my custom LeGran

Just looked up my local track's rules for 4/6 cylinder demo derbies. In that class, the only rule other than saftey modifications is 107" max wheelbase. Eighth gen Boneville is 110.8", so assuming the Wendover is similar in size...

Regardless of the rules, we are talking about an underpowered FWD fullsized unibody, it seems to me to be an odd choice for any form of motorsport other than maybe as a crush car, allowed or not. I won't complain if we get something weird like this, but I'm expecting the same configs the LeGran currently has.
