Hey, could you guys post more pictures of your projects with the jbeam debug mode on? I love looking at them and you guys don't seem to post them much, even when talking about all the jbeam work you've done. I dunno, I just think it'd be neat.
Wouldn't have been possible without Sam. And honestly my 450r isn't a very good mesh. It's very sloppy and obvious it's made by a first time blender user. But once someone learns how to extrude and rotate a circle anyone can make a frame in no time. Just knowing the proper way to make something is what is important.
Yeah, i kinda figured the same thing. What a shame. People posting their cool models ingame means almost nothing to me if it doesn't have a good jbeam. If the jbeam isn't good, the driving isn't fun, which means it's pointless to download or for me to appreciate it. Yeah, I can't model things at all, and it's cool that people can, but this isn't a "look at my pretty car model" thing for me. It's a "see how fun this thing will be to drive" sort of thing. I guess I wish more people felt the same. If jbeaming really is the hardest part like I've seen a lot of modellers say, why don't those people show off their hard work? lawl, I know I don't need to tell you this dk, but you and myth seem to put a lot more effort into jbeam then everyone else. Keep in mind that some (however few) people recognize that and really appreciate it, because you really can tell a difference.
He's cool, love his enthusiasm and how fast he's learning. It just seems to me that he releases stuff a bit too early/unpolished without the realism that I personally look for. He seems to care more about releasing something than releasing something he thinks is perfect. Yeah, we get a shitton of content from him, but it's just not up to kutch or myth standards in my opinion. Can't wait to see what he comes out with later on, because he's got so much potential.
I appreciate that, Mythbuster and dkutch know a hell of a lot about cars, and I do not, I know the basics, and how to fudge it. Hence why I haven't attempted any proper cars. But I've learnt so much about cars and stuff now that I think I'm ready to make one. You might have seen the Ford Ranger I'm making, I've created the suspension on that, and I'm constantly nagging dkutch for help and advice, just to make sure I do it properly. About the releasing unpolished stuff, I honestly do try polish everything as much as I can, take the Scarab for example, I polished that for months on end and made sure it was ready for release, sure it's not perfect, but I did everything I could to my knowledge and ability, I'd say the Scarab is the highest quality vehicle I've put out(That I actually created myself, that's why I went the extra mile). My next will be the DSC Bora, which I'm actually researching specs and whatnot to use, it has realistic engine specs, I just need to get the suspension to a realistic standard then it'll be great. So for me, it's not about making it, it's about understanding everything enough to do it properly. I'm getting there The only two vehicles I've put endless hours and effort into is the Scarab and the Bora(Not excluding my other stuff, I did put effort into them, but they weren't exactly my main interest), and my skills and knowledge have improved since the Scarab.
Haha, it's funny you say that because the scarab you made is the mod of yours I love the most. It proves your potential, and I'm really glad you're here.
exactly how i feel, there is plenty of good looking mods but that's all they are. And if you actually look at the jbeams and don't get scared off by all the brackets and stuff, they are quite easy imo, took only a few minutes of looking through dk's jeep to figure out how to add beams and adjust their strength.
You're great with the JBeam stuff though. And the Scarab is great. I guess it's the fastest off-road buggy ever? I'm actually making real cars because I found it easier than editing Gabe's models, but I still have no idea how a car transmission really works with engine torque. I guess I can learn JBeam pretty quickly being a programmer myself. Oh hey and you haven't released the Bora yet have you? insert want gif here
I don't even think people look at the jbeams of things I release. I get many questions that would be answered, had they taken time to look. But whatever, I'll try to remember to show the nb more often.
