    yeah pass mark the 7640g scores better than the 260m 610/590.. In my testing for beamng the the graphics arent that much of a problem but the cpu is. the 720 i7 is faster than my cpu.

    Not gonna lie im thinking about keeping this laptop kinda..

    This is what an 89$ upgrade would do in comparison to the alienware:

    CPU/APU

    Currently my a8-4500 scroes 2691 passmark

    89$ - a10-5750 scores 3667 passmark
    trade - i7 720q scores 3067 passmark

    GPU

    currently my 7640g scores 610 passmark

    8650g scores 539 for some reason.. think thats off
    260m scores 590 passmark

    Should I trade or upgrade my pc? Not sure...

    ok FutureMark shows a difference
    8650g=3000
    7640g=2440
    260m=? couldnt find one

    I play it just fine on the intel 3217U which is just a low voltage model dual core i3 at 1.8ghz with HD4000. Its not a very demanding game really.

    err, what?

    Great build! You'll love the 4670k.

    Well it was never demanding, it was just very, very poorly optimized. Now that they've put some work into optimizing it, it runs great on just about everything.

    Guess I can add this.

    Win XP Pro SP3 running in an Oracle VirtualBox

    2 cores from my i5-3570k and 2GB ram + 128mb video ram

    Comes in handy sometimes

    It's got something like 456w on the 12v rail. I hope it is fine cause I got nothing else. :/

    I don't know how mine is still working. It's a plain-ol' no-brand 500w, in use for like five years, running everything overclocked with many fans and hard drives... it should not be able to do this.

    You're putting a lot of trust in something that could very easily blow up and take all of your parts with it...

    - - - Updated - - -

    It's not so much the wattage you want, it's the amperage it can put out. A 500w power supply is decent enough, but cheapo ones don't put out anywhere near enough amperage to run high end graphics cards. If it's a no name brand power supply, theres a 100% chance that it can't put out the power it says it can on the label.

    Watts = Volts * Amps. Voltage should be fixed. Therefore 2 power supplies with 400W on their 12V rail will have the same max current on the 12V rail.

    Theoretically they will, but in practice they wont.

    No name brand power supplies are well known for over rating their specs. It may say x wattage and x amps on the 12v rail, but you'll never be able to get that power from it.

    36 or 38 Amps. Can't remember. It's a rosewill HIVE series 550w. Reviews say it's great. :p

    Now at 4.2@1.25v. I know it is a bit high but I haven't pushed the chip, and 1.25v is plenty cool. (Love the NZXT respire T40)

    Now the dang chip is pegged at 4.2Ghz at 0.05v at idle. Dang power saving on this MSI mobo, it doesn't bring clocks down. D:
