Well, like I said, there is another highway that has the yellow line on the rightmost side of the road in this map and the AI drives on it as you would expect, but the one in the screenshot is not. It has a white line on the rightmost side of the road, and AI will drive both ways in what you'd think was a designated passing lane. Why would they need a "workaround?" Is this referring to the town it runs though?

I mean the map maker making the roads like that instead. The AI traffick does not follow the laws of traffick as the road is, but as the path the mapmaker made gave it to them. If the map maker tells the AI that's a road they will follow it even if its dirt or water.

There was no proper AI when I was making this map, so some of the roads may still be incorrect. That road is made like that by accident. I posted an update with correct road mrkings and AI, but I just forgot about that road. It will be fixed in next update (which will come very soon :D)

Speaking about AI & map stuff, I noticed that when driving around the map while having the BeamNavigator equipped, a lot of the roads on it were invisible, where as other would just randomly come out of nowhere. In a way it looked like the BeamNavigator was using a different map view than what it's supposed to o_O

Okay, that makes sense. Wasn't sure if it was a mistake, or if there was actually roads like it in real life.

I think it may be caused by size of the map. I am creating a new map that is much larger than American Road, and roads on BeamNavigator are invisible almost all of the time there.

I bet in the next update, we may need stoplights, more street signs, and highway guide signs.

Is there any reason why the map still crashes the game mid-loading? the load screen gets stuck at loading map and 30+ mins later its still stuck there. I have a 6950 AMD 2gb VRAM. I thought after letting the game uninstalled for a while and the recent optimization updates it would be better but it still crashes at loading. I have 16gb DDR3 RAM btw.

I am not sure. Maybe you could try to close all applications working in the background, or unpack mod. Map works on my brother's computer with no problem, even though it has only 8 GB ram, and 2 GB VRAM for example.

No apps running in the background. Even disabled anything not essential. Same issue happens. What do you mean unpacking the mod, you mean taking it out of the zip file and installing directly into game files?
    --- Post updated ---
Even after i took the mod off and installed the zip directly into the "Levels" folder of the game the same thing happened. Game got stuck at a point loading the map. Opened task manager and beamng was not responding, RAM usage was at a steady 50% of total, core 1 was at normal usage, core 2 and 3 almost dormant, and core 4 was on a rave party from 100% to 0% in a fraction of a second. The circle that shows at the bottom left what the game is doin was permanently stuck no matter how long it was left there, and the beamng icon in the desktop was permanently at like 1% or 5% green "loading" status. IDK if its because of my CPU or my drivers or my GPU or what but i really wish i could play this map. Is there any way the map could be segmented into parts to see if there's some conflict somewhere or if the PC just cant handle it?

You can try to remove "forest" folder from "mymap" folder. It will remove all trees, rocks etc. It's quite heavy, so map should be easier to run without it. If it will work I can send you a lite version of forest folder with less number of trees

Still crashes, except now it gets stuck almost immediatly. The only things that come to my mind is to see if you can pass me a random 2x2km or 4x4km section of the map to see if the size has been an issue, or check if there's a memory leak at any LOD since i play with the game at the minimum possible graphics with shadows and AA disabled. Other than that i have no idea why the map would freeze the game.

Terrain is one object. It is impossible to "cut" it. You can try to remove it completely (I think it is called terrania.ter), but I am not sure. I can tell you later because now I am not at home.

What about other map mods? Do they work for you?

Yup. Even tennessey and desert highway. This map is the only one that has given me this kind of problem. Unless its a LOD issue since i have everything at lowest graphical settings the only thing that comes to mind is GPU incompatibility?

You can try to remove theTerrain.rer, terenia24.ter and mymap.ter from "mymap" folder. If it will not work without whole terrain, then I think it is not an issue with your PC performence.

I also have an update to upload, but I wait for game developers to temporary update upload file size.

I would have loved to say the map still didn't load and that there was a weird issue between your mod the game and my computer but that wouldn't be true. After a rather long time the map loaded perfectly fine without terrain. I wont ask you to optimize your map more than you can because it wouldn't be fair since my PC is very old although i cant upgrade. After you upload the update im gonna leave it as long as it needs to be to load the map even if it takes hours just to see what happens. Although the only weird thing is that even without a forest folder there were trees loaded in with no terrain.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before but I noticed there is a huge invisible ground in the air near the large airport. Flying a plane on approach over the ocean results in a crash into this invisible ground. It is quite a bit in the way.

I had a look in the map editor but could not find why it happens.
    Will share a picture later.

Also, a few other things I noticed were that highway entries and exits are very steep in some places. Also, I think the airplanes on the runways are also in the way because i like to use the runways for other things.

Anyway, it is a great map overall and provides lots of roads to get lost in. I also think the main highways are excellent because few maps do such large sections of it at that length.

    Im sorry but... much LARGER????
    holy boi its already 11km.
your maps are freaking amazing man i cant wait for this next big one.
i keep seeing ads in american roads showing slavic lands. Is that the big map you are referring too?

I really love the high speed rally section, i really hope you make a mixture of all these again but on different terrain.
American roads has been a favorite of mine for high speed related driving. but the crawling section surprised me a lot as well.
Your map has pretty much everything in one big area. its the best.

Ive been driving without end on american roads already and i dont even think i saw everything on the map. its one of the best maps in beam.
thank you for your hard work.

Thanks! I am really glad to hear it :D Yes, Slavic Lands will be my next map. It will be the largest map for BeamNG Drive (it allready is, but... only on my PC :D). This time I am creating all assets by myself. I love making it, but unfortunetely I have no time to do it now. I don't know when I will finish it. I need to deal with some problems in "real life" first.

But I have a huge update for American Road. It is ready to upload, but I can't upload it because it is too large. I am waiting for BeamNG developers to do something with upload size :D

So the new update is on standby? you could always do the classic one and just put a mega or a mediafire link or a google drive link with the new version.
