I hate writing multiple suggestions for a mod, but I had an idea that might work this time :p

I think you said that you want to create a base model of the Superlite that would be even less powerful than the current ones. Well, what about using the Pigeon's I3 engine that is a bit hopped up with like a small turbo (altough not neccessary)? It would be great for a base config & could even make sense if you think about it :D

I've already done some testing with the SOHC covet engine powercurves, and plan on trying out the Miramar engine, which would also make a good bunch of sense for a more "classic" variant.

I've thrown the Pigeon 600cc powercurves on it as well for testing but it doesn't play nice with the current gearbox and final gear. It would also require building a new header which I'd prefer avoiding.

Was the trackfab superlite built around the 200BX engine from the start I mean it sounds like it to me, its a pity you cant find a way to like say go from a 2000cc engine to like a 2500cc engine or would that throw off the balance of the car entirely?

You really don't need a two liter engine for a car like this. With some serious tuning, a 1.3 Liter four pot can make nearly 350 HP with only a junkyard IHI supercharger (I've seen it happen, engine did detonate but that was due to a lack of rev limiter) and with an Aluminium block I could pick the thing up with my bare hands, and I'm a scrawny little guy so that's no mean feat.
Even with a Mag block and heads the 2.0 and 2.5 would throw the balance of the car off entirely, making it around 300% twitchier than it already is and not really benefiting in acceleration because of added weight and worse distribution. Old pal of mine had a 850cc motorbike engine in a junked lotus Elan than made 133 horses NA.

Yeah a Superbike engine would be hilarious in a car that weighs what 550kg like this one does

    UPDATE

I am not in anyway possibly suggesting adding a Honda Superbike engine to this car it would be too mad and too insane to code!

Thats 13,000rpm of pure Honda perfection screaming away there I mean :p

Sunburst engine would be great, it makes around 270hp, rev to 9000rpm at stage 2 internals without exhaust at n/a sport intake.

UPD: usually use with dct 6 speed, that quite fast.

Hey man, what i suggested about suspension isn't really something that deep, what i mean is that you should allow the same type of suspension tunning the base game allows for stock cars. As it stands you can only modify the suspension of the car so much and IIRC, only the front suspension.

I've just reverified and it should have pretty much all the same options as the vanilla cars.

I compared the 180R to the track variant of the Sunburst, and excluding the stuff related to the turbo and additional differentials, the only adjustement the Superlite doesn't have is L/R front toe trim.

If you're having issues I'd like to know which specific variant. The only things that might not be adjustable on some variant would be the gearbox (since I'm using the 200BX 5-speed in the street variants), the diff (open-diff) and final drive. All coil-over variants should have full adjustements front and rear, the main difference between them is how the damper handles high-speed damping.

This is a known sequential transmission bug, simple fix.

Thanks, that seems to have fixed it.

Sadly it can't be included in the mod since it overrides default game files. I'll direct people to your thread if the comment pops up again.

Oh, this thing drives beautifully. It's so much fun on controller. Anyway, do you think you could either A: Have a button that switches the dash to imperial (for us Americans) or a seperate dash part? I don't know which would be easier, or if either is even feasible. If not, no biggie. Thanks for a really fun mod!

I actually got the option to switch between a metric and imperial dashboard to work this morning. I was just missing some bits when I copied the dash from the ETK800 as a base. It works similarily to the ETK800 with a separate part that just changes a variable for the lua that manages the dash.

I'll send an update with that and a few other minor changes to the repo soon™. I just need to fix the front wing first. The Jbeam has some issues, which is probably why some people have been able to get it to explode.

I think in the options for the ETK 800 it came with a Metric and imperial units setup on it, thats what I would look at for a fix but thats entirely up to you how you do it :) for this units problem you have

as for the update, the wings sound interesting to me this should be good

If you do plan on implementing a classic Caterham model, being able to pick classic gauges wouldn't be a bad idea if you make the interior customizable

Yeah, when re-organised my jbeams for the next update I set it up so I'll be able to use the same slot for analog gauge options.

Gauges are still on my to-do list for later updates, I mainly need to get around making some decent gauge faces.

Ahah, not sure how I managed to just happen to check your mod today to see the update 'just a moment ago'. Updating now, can't wait to make my 1.5L ultralight Caterham! :)
