I did some more testing, I reinstalled the mod some more times, but it's still kaput. I will add that the engine itself is overheating, I tried gently throttling the engine up and before it says "rod bearings damaged", it says "coolant overheating". I'm using stock BeamNG settings. Maybe it could be the way you have it installed. I have it installed by downloading it through the "subscribe" button on the website and having it appear in this order: Documents: BeamNG.drive: mods: repo: B-25 (in zipped form).
I had the same issue after the update. I figured out how to fix it, it involves adjusting some values in a few files in the B25 folder. I'm in the process of putting together step-by-step instructions.
Ok, rather than write out the process, which could be a little difficult to follow. Navigate to: C:\Users\(your computer name here)\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\repo. Replace the attached B25.zip file that's in this folder. The fix: I disabled thermals in the engine config files, the only issue that I've found is, theres no longer any smoke trailing from the engines, but it works.
Mine works fine without this, but does it eliminate the bug with the plane crashing if you fly it into water
This fixes the coolant overheat and subsequent piston ring damage, essentially resulting in you flying on one engine, that myself and others were having when the game updated. As to the crashing into water 'bug', that appears for me randomly...but at that point I'm resetting anyway.
Okay. A while ago I did the slowest possible setting on replays, and I crashed a B-25 into the water. Ever since the livery update, the plane had a fatal error when crashing into water, and it automatically respawns. The replay revealed that the flaps completely broke when crashing faster then 200kph into water, and the plane breaks. You can only crash it into water if you are going less then about 200kph and level.
You can also crash faster than 200 kph into the water if the plane is significantly damaged (wings ripped off, etc).
After the livery update in like 2017 or something whenever you crashed the plane into water fast the plane would have an instability issue and automatically respawn.
