    For DMI: Made some names for some cars.
    Rambler: 300 Series (Second number denotes the number of cylinders, third denotes door count)
    Ambassador: 400 Series
    Gremlin: Prophet (100 Series after 1981)
    AMX: DMX
    SC/Rambler: 200 SS401
    Rebel: Rioteer (Name definitely subject to change)
    The Machine: 401 Super-8
    Matador: 500 Series.
    Matador Coupe: 400 XCE
    Javelin: Harpoon
    Marlin: Swordfish (Or some other fish name.)
    Hornet: 200 Series, sport models denoted PR for pocket rocket.

    Again it's a work in progress, and there's gonna be some more cars sprinkled in the mix and i'll probably remove some stuff (Marlin isn't really necessary, some cars are gonna be very different in style but kinda take up the same rank.)

    I've also been thinking about the fictional British Leyland of Beam.

    Most of the brand's cars would be based on a mix of BL and Fiat Group cars (so things like Fiat+Austin/Morris/MG, Alfa Romeo+Triumph, Lancia+Rover, Maserati+Jaguar), with some Chrysler Europe influence in their 60s, 70s and 80s models.

    Some of my ideas:

    - 1958-1980s small car - Fiat 600+original Mini+Hillman Imp. It includes the rear engine, rear wheel drive layout.

    - Either a 1965-1980s small car based on a mix of the Fiat 850 and Hillman Imp, or a 1971-1980s more modern transverse FWD supermini, based on a mix of the Fiat 127 and Mini replacement prototypes.

    - 1982-2001 supermini, based on a mix of the Austin/Rover Metro, Talbot Samba and Fiat Uno,

    - 1970-1978 compact executive car, based on the Triumph Dolomite, with some Chrysler 180/2-Litre and Alfa Romeo 1750/2000 sprinkled in,

    - 1965-1982 roadster/coupe - mix of MG MGB and Fiat 124 Spider/Coupe,

    - Bigger 1967-1976 roadster - mix of Triumph TR6 and Alfa Romeo Spider,

    - 1976-1983 targa - mix of Triumph TR7/TR8 and Lancia Beta Montecarlo,

    - 1962-1969 luxury sports sedan - based on the Jaguar 420 and Maserati Quattroporte Mk1.

    The inspiration was this idea by @Youngtimer , mixing the Morris Marina and Hillman Avenger.
    (though I'd add some Rootes Arrow and Fiat 124/125 into it)

    More BL-style ideas:

    - The Beamverse Jaguar E-Type would also show some Maserati 3500 and Sebring influence in the design, and also (to a lesser extent) mechanicals.

    - A fictional Jag XJS would have influence from the Maserati Kyalami, mainly in the front end and roofline.

    - Lyons, the Jag-like brand, would also be making a sub-faux-XJS car - a mid-engined 2+2 V8 sports/supercar, based on the mid-engined XJS prototypes and the Maserati Merak. Produced between 1972 and 1985.

    - Similarly, the faux-XK8 would have a lot of Maserati 3200GT (1st gen) and GranTurismo (2nd gen) influence, down right to the engine being a mix of the Jag and Maserati/Ferrari V8.

    - Lyons would also have some crossovers - an Alfa Stelvio/Jag E-Pace mix, and a Maserati Levante/Jag F-Pace one.



    - Instead of the "Landcrab", the fictional British Leyland would build a more traditional executive car - a mix of the Rootes Arrow, Chrysler 180/2-Litre, Fiat 125 and 130 cars (1968-1977). However, the larger one would be, just like the Austin 3-Litre, not much more than a stretched version.

    I also have the idea of a turbine-engined production car in the Beamverse. Maybe something like a Citroen CX with a turbine?

    AND An old CVT just to make it as weird and french as possible. would "Fau" work as a brand name, like Fau TX-190?

    No, I don't think it would. And the model name souds like some sort of portable radio.

    Also, French cars are usually weird to an extent, and the stereotype is still very broad, given a lot of really conservative French cars.

    The Hopper does not only exist in the open-top variants we see in game, but also comes in Land Cruiser-like closed body SUV and pickup variants.

    It also can (and often does) come with a diesel engine in non-US models.

    I've always imagined the hopper we have in game as a sort of J70 land cruiser analog (or maybe a LR defender?) as well as having the obvious TJ/YJ inspiration.
    the generation we have in-game would likely be an update to replace the more hardcore lineup of Ibishu 4wds, having probably one older generation, like a CJ3/J40/series iii, which likely would have gone into production in the 50's or 60's.
    the one we have in-game would be sold alongside a more road-going SUV, more like the jeep wagoneer/cherokee or landcruiser j60/80/100/200.

    I'd say that the Hopper is the more basic car, the Wrangler/smaller LCs/Defender-style one, while the bigger car (I was thinking about Traveller, but that doesn't transliterate well into Japanese), based on a mix of the Wagoneer, bigger LCs and Range Rover, is the fancier, yet still offroadable, one. It would also have the Chaparel FX version, kind of a BeamNG Lexus LX.

    Idea for the bigger 4x4's generations:

    - 1st - 1963-1975 - Mix of the Jeep Wagoneer and Toyota Land Cruiser 50, with some Road Rover prototype thrown in.

    - 2nd - 1975-1994 - Mix of the later Wagoneers, Mk1 Range Rover and Land Cruiser 60.

    - 3rd - 1994-2005 (and still sold in certain countries) - Mix of the Land Cruiser 80, 100, Range Rover P38A and some 90s Jeep cues.

    - 4th - 2005-2017 - Land Cruiser 200, Range Rover L322, some 00s Jeep cues.

    - 5th - 2017- next big Land Cruiser, Range Rover L405, upcoming Jeep Wagoneer.


    A smaller car (Traveller Custom/Chaparel EX?):

    - 1st - 1st gen Lexus RX, plus Discovery II and Grand Cherokee WJ.

    - 2nd - 2004-2010 - 2nd gen RX, Range Rover Sport Mk1, Grand Cherokee WK.

    - 3rd - 2010-2017 - 3rd gen RX, Range Rover Sport Mk1 facelift, Grand Cherokee WK2,

    - 4th - 4th gen RX, Range Rover Sport Mk2, next Grand Cherokee.


    Compact executive car (?/Chaparel CX):

    - 1st (2015-) - NX, Range Rover Velar, bits of the Cherokee KL.


    Premium compact car (?/Chaparel AX)

    - 1st (2016-) - UX, Range Rover Evoque (both generations), Compass MP.

    Maybe a Defender-like vehicle, mixed in with G-Class (pre-Br.463) interior cues and slight influences from the Citroen Mehari and UAZ-469?

    Maybe more G-Class and newer Fiat Campagnola in the "Defender", and more Mehari/old Campagnola in the "Series Land Rovers"?

    You know what, that's actually a better idea. The G-Class does seem to be one of the better cars (specifically for the "Defender") for design influence.

    I also see Charmand, the French brand, selling two sorts of larger cars - more "experimental" D-segement stuff inspired by cars like the Renault 16 or 20, and the conservstive, but somewhat prestigious, Peugeot-inspired E-segment cars (some with a 2.9 V8, inspired by the original concept of the PRV V6 being a V8).
