It's odd that they would make the same claim twice last year. However this could be the time Tdev claimed that 1.0 would be in 2016 all over again.
So, with the advent of the new lighting mechanic, will this affect the rear-view mirrors as well? I'd be nice if we could get some improvement on those.
Fast damping changes quite a bit with settings, I wonder if settings then change springs too as fast damp is to my knowledge for damping unsprung mass and without changes to springs I'm not sure if that is needed to change. Damping knee is something that could change between settings though, but fast damping is bit odd. Going from 1300 to 1900 is quite bit of change. However I think developers have bit more and especially more recent data than what I have, maybe it is how those modern ones work, they sometimes are bit odd to me.
Honestly, the only things I think we can speculate about are a few vehicles, lighting/reflection related stuff, and the Utah map. I guess we can speculate about Jungle Rock Island a bit, but even then, I heard nothing about the devs remastering that map. West Coast USA might be getting a minor update, so we could probably speculate a bit about that map. By the way, I think the devs should show us a picture of the new car soon, unless there are already pictures of that car I don't know about. Anyways, we will probably need more material to speculate about pretty soon to keep this thread from getting stale and generic. By the way, sorry for my awful post you quoted and debunked yesterday. I came across as ignorant and narrow minded in that post. It was also a text wall which didn't help at all. I am now aware that a new modern car is coming to Beamng.Drive. I thought it was BS that you guys made up, but I no longer think it is. I actually would not mind a modern SUV or sedan for the game as long as it runs well and doesn't look ugly. I watched one of the engine sound videos that @Diamondback posted on the development media page and it just made me regret my post of me saying that "a new car isn't going to come out in update" even more. I would love to see pictures of this car though, so that way I know for sure a new car is coming out in this upcoming Utah update. If there are any pictures of this new car, I would like to know where to find them. As far as speculation goes, I do think there are are going to be more road sign models in Utah USA and I do think the update will come out in December. The non update hiatus from 0.16 to 0.17 was June and July. The non update hiatus from 0.17 to this update was October and is probably gonna be November as well, but I could be wrong though. I also got a feeling the Hopper Crawler will be coming out in this update. Again, I may be entirely wrong about this, but I have seen pictures of it, including on the Development Media thread which is all staff members. By the way, I think we should speculate about what's going to happen to the Utah map a bit more, but we can also speculate about this new car to, especially when it gets closer to being done and there is more information about it. Um, okay I guess. I guess we'll see what happens in this update. You do make a fair point about the rally-centric wagon. That may be possible. Anyways, I would like to know if this new car is going to be like the ETK 800 series or not. I actually wouldn't be surprised if people on here told me that this car wasn't like the ETK 800 series at all. This is the end of my post. I may post here again later.
Who knows, maybe I'm back working on that AWD 10 Speed DCT GM from a few years ago and decided now that it absolutely needs adaptive dampers, exhaust valves for its i5 and a freaking offroad mode Who knows...
Comfort, Sport, Offroad, I5, DCT: probably a compact ETK wagon, complete with an allroad model, slotted beneath the 800-series. ETK 600? That actually makes sense since Utah, an offroad-friendly map, is getting updated.
Well I wouldn't count on that knowing it was said lots of times. I guess to not sound like one of those projects that are never finished, because they really knew it wouldn't be ready at those times i.ex. from end of 2015: As far as game lacks a lot of improvements, features and content I'd guess it's gonna be more like end of 2020 or even 2021 to reach version "1.0". Still a new unknown car to release and Soliad Wendover is on it's way later on too, plus only a single vechicle for brands like Civetta, Autobello, Soliad, Burnside, Wentward doesn't feel right to me, so I'd say don't expect final version to happen soon. Edit: Down: @EruptionTyphlosion well it wasn't directed at you, just overall for everybody - information to not get too hyped by the "promises" of final version date release
I'm well aware of that situation. I mentioned it above. Obviously there is just no way that 1.0 could be out next update, and it's confirmed that the next update will be 0.18. However, it has been a long time since 0.17 and there aren't any signs of 0.18 coming very soon, so it might make sense that the 2019 career mode implementation mentioned in the 0.15 changelog could be the cause for the delay.
It sounds like you are pretty much describing an Audi of some sort. I5, AWD, funky DCTs, Active Dampers? It sure sounds like some sort of Rally Audi Quattro-esk but modernized beast. I keep my vote in for an Audi Q5/Q7 Crossover type of thing mixed up with something italian Autobello style.
I was originally thinking a V10 for the newer ETKs, but since its more likely an I5 now with the funky AWD systems and adjustable stuff, its gotta be some type of Volvo now. They have different drive modes with adjustable absorbers and what not.
I'm still over here hoping it's a European midsize sports wagon... Seriously tho, think about how awesome a car like that would be in the new update. Go from curving up twisty mountain roads to flying over rock outcroppings and dusty pits, all with an insanely over-engineered drivetrain and punchy I5 packed into a sensibly European design... mmm. Me likey. Think RS2 Avant + V70R + Offroad flair from vehicles like the Forester and Outback. (Perhaps this car could be a bit newer than the given examples, though.) A car like this would not only fill in a huge gap in vehicle diversity, but it would also (with boring enough base models) add a very compelling "boring" traffic car. Another possibility I think we're missing is a modern, international light truck. Both the Mazda BT-50, Dodge Sprinter, Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and Land Rover Discovery (Or their counterparts) came with inline fives. This would *also* fit with the new Utah. There's a lot of possibilities. (Truthfully, I think it's unlikely that the new vehicle will be a light truck.) God, I hope it's not a crossover.
I don't see why we would need a new brand for such a car unless it turns out to be Sweedish. A modern semi-performance SUV/cross-over/wagon would fit fine under ETK or Hirochi.
Honestly, i would be happy if it was right, because the DCT in this game needs a bit more love. Right now they feel too agressive while driving normally and the transmission take more time to downgrade than a manual transmission during suddent acceleration (Im not talking about the responsivity of the gearbox but the time he take to downgrade more than 1 gear)
To me it sounds awfully like the RSQ3 Audi 5cyl adaptive dampers active exhaust DCT and a bit offroady.
One car that is in dire need of an update is the Pigeon.. When was the last time it was even touched? Glass doesn't shatter, collision sucks, it's overall just bad in it's current state.
Because it's plastic, not glass. It's been said many times before. BeamNG doesn't simulate plastic cracking and breaking very well, hence why it bends instead of splitting or popping out.
