Night lighting is a mess in general... You can either have full on blackout with headlights that don't do shit, or glowing mess with no headlight pattern at all, or if you add additional lights such as interior lights on a bus and street lighting your game turns into a slideshow at morning and evening and into a slightly laggy game at full on night.
Remember that the changes being made aren't to the lighting system itself, but to the color space. The engine performs all the same calculations, it just displays the results differently.
Point still stands. Low graphics will still look low. High can have massive changes along with medium. But low... it can become worse.
I'm afraid I don't follow. Sure, low and lowest settings will still lack detail, but the darker shadows and more vibrant colors will still carry over regardless. What specifically do you believe will make the new color space look/perform worse?
So what? Time for an upgrade. Even so, highly... highly doubt it will end up looking worse on low settings. Why complain before you even know for sure?
Here's an area that would be really good for stop signs. There are 2 stop sign props I put in this picture while I was ingame, however they are not there now. I would like the devs to put a stop sign at the end of the road in this picture of Utah in the next update, but it won't be the end of the world if they don't do that.
I never said performance will suffer. What I'm saying is the new lighting won't matter to the majority of beamng.drive game owners since most people run on potatoes that barely meet the minimum pc specs. Shadows are the 2nd biggest visual performance impact outside of reflations so the updated shadows to those low spec players won't matter since they will be turned off. I am not saying I'm not interest (the opposite to be honest) but it's not what I think the game really needed. What the game needed in terms of lighting are 2 things. 1. Glass isn't just one brightness when you have dynamic reflections off and 2. Nighttime with the main Moon phases along with the Option for gameplay lights vs realistic lights.
There was a word spacing error in my stop sign post, however, my posts are generally worded like they are because I am autistic. I say how I feel. Fair enough, you make a good point. By the way Copunit12, thank you for addressing the stop sign thing
I got mild Autism to Anyway OT wondering will the Inline 6 Mesh in pickup and van be new, Old engine mesh is VERRYYYY Dated
Yeah to be honnest i think moonhawk more so as BOTH engines are dated, I do like the fan how it moves and back in the Day it was the more detailed engine, God times go fast, Long live beam
I think the development of beamng shouldn't be hindered by some players not having modern hardware, id love to see modern graphics effects like pbr raytracing per object motion blur
