Thats the reason why my one good bike is a 40 year old Schwinn :p

I'm finally getting my Regal fixed after the steering rack broke. It broke about a month ago when it was the first day of this season that had temperatures below 70°, so I thought the tire pressure light was on due to the colder weather. I had actually gotten a nail in the front right tire, which caused it to deflate to about 15 PSI. This made it harder to turn the steering wheel at low speeds and created a lot of resistance on the power steering system. The pressures in the system rose and caused an internal failure, most likely in the spool valve. I would fix it myself but the official procedure requires you to lower the subframe, so I just took it to my local shop. Hopefully I get it back soon.

You're lucky it isn't Christmas, then you get the "oh, we just decided to roll your Christmas gift and birthday present into one" type of deal.

    Hi everyone,
So it's been a while since I'm on this forum know and I think it's about time for me to get a little more
personal, just a little :D . This community is quite special and many of my favorite members put up some
nice posts in this thread. I see a lot of awesome stuff in here about people who get the best out of their
lives and I put my thumbs up for that ! Anyway, I just came back from work about an hour from now
and it's fairly past midnight here. First day of the year that I spot ice on my bike before taking off. It's been
about 11 winters and summers know since I daily ride my way through the world by motorcycle. This is my
third one that I ride for about 8 years know. It's also very misty today so ( still trying to preserve a little bit
of discreteness ) I found a dark spot on one of my daily routes to show you guys and girls the bike :) .
Here it is, NOCARGO's wheels :

Thats super cool. I rarely see anything older around where I live except for cruisers. Its nice to see someone who keeps a bike like that on the road.

    Thanks :)
So far I've been quite lucky concerning spare parts. It seems I was just in time last year to buy a second complete
( and completely cleaned inside and out ) one for spare parts too. Up til now there's only one part I definitely can't
get my hands on anymore, the air filter. Last week I finally decided to look for solution after it was already
'air pressure cleaned' before and I found a Renault Clio air filter element with perfect width but few inches
(centimeters here) too long. So I've cut too length, applied a bit of Tec7 silicone glue and there we go again ! :D
All the rest of it : Bone Stock except for the exhaust. Few years ago exhaust manifold was lost thru corrosion
and I had it replaced by a custom made stainless steel manifold. Also the exhaust pipe and silencer ( oh my so
favorite type of silencer ) are after-market but that's how I bought it from previous owner. They are also stainless
steel so the exhaust system is completely of stainless steel and 2 years ago the 'silencing material' was so worn
out that it completely came out of the silencer. Thus the silencer is empty, that's what the gearheads in this region
call 'an open pipe'. :p I had to import it from a neighboring country ( 8 years ago ) cause back then it already
wasn't to be found back here. In that country it was sold new as a Japanese import ( at least this version ) thru
the official dealers. The previous owner had it for nine years and he was a ship's captain driving a Pontiac
Firebird ! So I guess I was lucky enough to find the right one. It takes a lot of effort to keep it in good shape,
yes, ( not the engine though but all the rest that surrounds it ) but I guess that's just who I am so it comes sort
of naturally :) . It's my daily driver and it's like some sort of extended part of me. Last tidbit for now : It's from
1988 ( many people think I'm driving a 15 yo bike ) and I bought it with about 62.000 km's on the clock.
Currently it has about 112.000. That's 70.000 miles.

Last weekend I started tearing it apart, washed it, and cleaned the carb and fuel tank. The motor was locked up, but I got it freed. I got it running today. Still needs more work, but should be ready for a test drive when we get some snow.

After breaking my USB 3.0 header on my MSI B250 mATX motherboard, I decided to swap my system to a ATX board as "last gen" hardware (2017 era) is getting to be "cheap" on ebay. My first attempt left me with a DOA board (sigh) but 2nd time lucky. After running a proper benchmark on my i7 7700 CPU and AMD RX Vega 64 (hooked to a 850w PSU), I got very strong 3DMark scores and a 145 MBeam/s Banana stress result. Rather happy with all my combined upgrades, will not have to change any major components for a while.
