Hmm, now I realize that Diamondback's video that said 0.18 release has his tool showing all the cool internal working of AWD, so it makes me confused if new AWD stuff will be included with update or if he just had blend of old and new there which not all are coming in as release, puzzleous.
Yea, I want to have that plus the torque vectoring version (even though most likely the vectoring one won't actually simulate the various gearing systems and whatnot that exist IRL, simply because there is no need to)
We can adjust the torque bias of the diff on the fly just due to the math involved, IRL that's not possible (you can't change gear teeth counts dynamically ), so we don't need all fancy solutions to achieve the same result. Simulating these systems in great detail would work, but at the same time quite a waste of cpu time, the only advantage would be bragging rights, the behavior wouldn't change in any meaningful way...
I wonder if the devs have anything planned involving the in game "Beam NAVIGATOR" GPS. It would be cool if we could use it as a dashcam (a.k.a new official camera angle?), or even have it show off-road things ( e.g: coordinates, speed, height, temperature, time, and a compass.)
The object they tested the cool new active AWD in looks way too much like a dynamometer. Maybe they have solved the issue they mentioned?
The devs have repeated this till they’re blue in the face. THERE IS NOT A DYNO IN DEVELOPMENT. IT WILL LIKELY NEVER BE ADDED.
Sure developers say they wont add things for ages, but the game has progressed a lot and tons of new developers have been added, who knows, noone thought traffic was possible with how the game was.
That's where you're wrong. Traffic had been discussed by developers many times before its implementation, but Gull's code allowed it to be implemented a lot sooner. On the dyno front, the devs have said no countless times. It isn't going to happen. End of story.
There was a dyno in development at one point. It was scrapped due to physics engine limitations, and the developers have clearly stated that they do not intend to bring it back.
What part of "there will never be a dyno" do you not understand? The developers have clearly stated multiple times that a dno will never be added, and that the original project was scrapped due to physics limitations. It's not going to show up in the vehicle selector as a christmas miracle surprise. It's not going to be reincarnated as a boring roller prop to test boring AWD systems. It's just a cancelled, bland prop. That's all that a dyno in this game will ever be.
You said that "who knows" if it would be added or not, "the devs have added a lot of team members, anything is possble" Don't play the "But I never explicitly said it!" card. A simple look back at that messge lets me know exactly what you were implying.
Some amazing beamng brains (modders or devs) could still try to imitate a dyno. For example instead of using rolling dyno like IRL, put the zone where the tires are on a material without any friction and it could make something funny that looks like a dyno (that's some of my strange and impossible to do ideas but you see what i mean )
Okay, I am 100% aware that Diamondback who is a staff member explicitly said that there will not be a dyno or roller prop added to the game and if a staff member says that something won't be added to the game, chances are that they are probably right and you do make a good point about the prop not showing up in the vehicle selector as a Christmas surprise. However, I do not think that this Car Crusher Creative person was trying to play a card or anything like that. He also made it very clear that he did not say that a dyno was getting added to the game. Also, what do you think Car Crusher Creative was trying to imply by that message anyways? I have also heard the dev team bring up stuff like "We are trying to make anything possible in BeamNG" and statements similar to that line before. That said, I am not saying that Car Crusher Creative is in the right and that you are in the wrong. I also believe Diamondback is right when he says that there will not be a dyno added to the game because he is a staff member and he has some control over BeamNG.Drive. Also, I looked "dyno" on Google and it looks like a meter and clock looking thing, but I could be wrong about that. By the way, I have a question for you. Is a dyno a measuring thing or a roller prop? Anyways, I do believe you when you say that there will not be a dyno in BeamNG and I also believe Diamondback. I just have a few questions about this topic.
What's wrong with you dude, you keep talking like if your word was the law. You dont speak for anyone but you.
That particular post is "the law" because the devs have explicitly stated it is What was the maning of his initial message, then? An"Anything is possible!" tangent that's completely unrelated to other discussion in the thread?
